When the nutmeg touches the rum,

A feast of nog that carries.

From places around the thumb

The drink carries.

The warmth of the turkey lingers.

Garlands of popcorn play.

Rolls held by fingers.

Allow for the flavors to stay.

The coolness of the outside brings

The heat up a few notches.

Is only enhances the meal, it sings

As the cook watches.

A feast of memories to carve,

They know they cannot wait.

When memories will starve,

They will be driven out the gate.

In everything that happens during this time,

It’s only proper to pen such a rhyme.
