A Dead Existence

Letting go is hard.

Living together but never touching.

Splitting the bills—

The cost is too much for just

One to contribute financially…

Waiting for the other to hop

Out of the shower.

Hoping the other won’t take an hour.

Knowing the reason

They ended up roommates.

But too comfortable to leave.

And too hurt to move on.

Afraid of wasting so much time.

So terrified of being wrong.

Each are fighting demons

On opposite sides of the bed.

Never asking what’s going on

Inside of the others head.

A life where both have shed

Countless tears alone.

While right next to the other…

If this isn't about the romance dying, there is nothing else. This was so good. I felt this on a visceral level.

  • Oh wow, that was really powerful and raw and honest. That one definitely spoke to me. You put this so eloquently and perfectly.

  • Resounding Reality, well written ❤️📝😉❗

Great writing! The worst kind of loneliness is the kind you feel while you’re with someone. ❤️‍🩹

So very raw about how far away someone can be even when they are right there. ❤️

Woah. This one is brutally depressing. Great job! You pulled this off well!
