A Day Dedicated to My Weakness

Take a pause on appearing to be strong

A Day To Be Weak

I long for a day dedicated to my weakness.

A day that I don’t need to hurry and wipe my tears, that I can just let them go from my nearly filled ducts.

When I don’t need to hold my scream and unclench my tense teeth.

When I don’t have to stifle my cry and release the pressure burning in my throat.

***

I hope for a day when I can be with my failures, my disappointments, and even my wrong decisions.

I know I did wrong. I made mistakes.

I know, I went off track.

But it doesn’t mean I’ll put them all aside.

***

My shames are as important as my victories.

We celebrate our accomplishments, what about our disappointments?

Can’t we sit with them? Don’t they deserve it?

***

I long for a day that I can bid my failures goodbye.

That I can slowly treat my wounds with care.

That I can gracefully embrace my imperfections.

That I can give love even to the worst version of me.

***

Just one day, let me be fully present with my miseries.

Because they’re part of me.

And they also deserve me, as I to them.

After this, I’ll come back, stronger.

Firmed by my wins, and my woes.

Because sometimes, it’s just hard to be weak when you’ve always appeared “strong” in front of them.
