A Child’s Laughter

Poem

By Sophia GilbertsonPublished 4 years ago • 1 min read

The sweet sweet sound,

That my ears have found.

Some might damage,

Some might hurt.

In an ocean of silence,

Your pitch will be the guidance.

Sadly it will be cut short,

Because your age will soon fade,

And adulthood will invade.

Right after you hear it,

A smile may stay for a while,

On your face so pure, so bare,

You may be unaware.

It's cute how delicately it wrinkles,

Though your age does twinkle,

And the tone,

Goes straight to my bones,

Oh how I love the sound.

To adhere the look,

To measure how long it took,

For it to disappear,

From your atmosphere,

How I love the sight.

The more contagious it is,

The more bliss will consists,

How flawless it can be,

I do agree.

And when it leaves,

Everyone grieves,

Because they missed the chance,

To nourish and enhance,

A child's lovely laughter.
