A calm day at sea, with rolling waves coming ashore,

As I sit alone on this beach,

Beneath a lone arch on this pebbled path,

A chord is heard in the deep blue.

A clear omen of what is lost.

A real ache in the heart.

I roam down upon this path, tears falling on the sand.

I have learned to become numb.

I could not mend an old harm,

And one more echo is heard in the deep blue.

Now, I am alone with these memories,

I come upon my home,

And walk alone in these narrow halls.

In this house, now grown dim and cold.

I enter through an old door,

And there sits on a table, a lone candle,

With a flame that has gone dark.

I hear a moan from the wind, against the cracked window,

A dear name is spoken on the wind,

That recalls a distant memory.

I remain calm and numb,

As I roam on in these hallowed halls.

Alone now in this empty house.

Is there still now a home for me, in these darkened halls?

Where only sorrow now dwells.

I make my way, walking down the pebbled path,

Toward the deep, cold sea.

And one more dream comes to me,

That is distant and quiet,

Silent and thunderous,

A deep echo beneath the sea.
