A Burning Inside

Empty Silence

A Burning Inside

There's an empty space

Next to me

The bench cold

As I freeze alone

As my fingers float

Play until they bleed

Burning beneath me

As white turns black

Severing the strings

But never erasing

The tether

To your memory

I try to summon you

Only to be left

With the silence.
