A buffet of flavors
Though dreamt of, which do You savor?
Have You ever been writing notes from a board
Only, on the inside, to be truly bored
Sometimes it rather stinks
That we have to ignore and suppress our natural instincts
What kind of things did You daydream?
Are some of You living them now, or pent up behind Your seams?
What was Your fancy? What was Your taste?
Did You take action to chase those dreams, did You make haste?
Which did You wish to enjoy from a buffet of flavors?
What have You enjoyed and satisfyingly savored?
Did You enjoy ripe melons, full and heavy with juices?
Were You a fan of clams and their culinary uses?
Or were You more a fan of rump roast
And were others jealous of Your meals, to boast?
If not were You more a fan of baguettes, a fresh loaf of bread.
With some nice aioli sauce that You can nicely spread?
Are pastries You desire? A Long John with icing?
Stuffed with cream and sweet just to Your liking?
When it comes to a world of flavor and taste
Maybe time in class is what we shouldn't waste?
Getting lost in thought, time slips through our hands.
Caught off guard then asked by the teacher to stand.
