I saw a bouncing bookcase

Bounding up the stairs;

I was so astounded

That I had to stop and stare.

It didn't see me watching,

Or - if it did - it didn't care.

I saw a bouncing bookcase,

Bounding up the stairs.

I saw a flying armchair

Whizzing through the air;

I was flabbergasted,

I'd hardly say it's fair

How it came so out of nowhere,

And caught me unaware.

I saw a flying armchair,

Whizzing through the air.

I saw a laughing fountain

Dancing through the square;

It seemed so gleeful and carefree,

That I just had to join it there.

The people whooped and hollered

At the whole absurd affair.

I saw a laughing fountain,

Dancing through the square.
