A Blind Skin

Poem

By Usman ZafarPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

"A Blind Skin:

In a world drenched thick in colors' haze,

I wear a skin that never sees the day.

Not white, not black, not any shade,

A blind skin, neither dark nor made.

It doesn't judge by how it's told,

No texture felt, no warmth to hold.

It breathes in whispers, soft as night,

Unseen by touch, unseen by sight.

This skin knows truth in sound and feel,

Of voices soft, of laughter real.

It learns in echoes, hears the tones

Of distant worlds it calls its own.

Its blindness cuts through masks and lies,

To taste the soul beneath disguise.

For beauty's not in what it shows,

But in the boundless depth it knows.

So here I live, unseen, unknown

In blind skin woven of my own.

A tapestry of silence spun, rich with the darkness, yet which hides but blinds not.

Blackout
