A Bird’s Eye View
Seeing lots from high in the sky

A Bird’s Eye View
I watched the world,
from where I stood,
above the branch,
beyond the good.
The sky was cracked,
the sun bled red,
it spun and hissed,
like souls long dead.
The trees were still,
their whispers gone,
the earth was tired,
its light withdrawn.
Below I saw,
a thousand cries,
a sea of ghosts,
in human guise.
They walked with eyes,
that never dreamed,
they spoke in words,
that never gleamed.
I held the fruit,
its taste was sin,
a bitter truth,
that burned within.
The wind confessed,
what I once knew,
the dark sees all,
from my bird’s view.
