starts beating
at 4-6 weeks old.
But,
No one told me
there is a catch
to our
beloved,
human nature.
At only sixteen
I fell in love too young.

my infant heart,

that steals away time.
In many ways,
It’s uncontrolled.
It wants to keep going.

for someone so new,
what a gruesome way to go.
If I’m a child
dying
of heartache,
and no one
supplied,
will my rhythm
stride to a halt?
All I can do
is hope
my life
goes to someone
whose existence
was not stolen,
before it even began.
