A 111-Word Short Story: Robot Fly

My own personal challenge

By Gabriel B. ShamesPublished 6 months ago • 1 min read
Mechanical wings… activate!

Once, there was an electronic fly. He didn’t know where he came from, or how long he he’d been active… but he did know he was engineered for spying.

He had multiple times been carried by unseen forces to some location. He could feel his eyes and ears recording the scene. Then was pulled home.

He wanted more. He wanted to fly under his own direction and find somewhere else. Somewhere not pre-destined.

One night, he flew out of his enclosure and found a strange structure. It was a tiny roof, held up by clear walls.

Later, a large vehicle stopped there and doors opened. He flew in, daring for freedom.
