A year has passed and you’re still waiting for answers that might never come.
You still check the license plate of every car that looks like hers.
You wish for the day when you can look her in the eye and tell her how much she hurt you.
You’ve rehearsed it every night, hoping that it will manifest for real this time. Not in dreams but in the waking world.
They say you’re better off without her but how do you let go of someone who shaped you into the person you are today?
Who taught you courage and patience and love?
385 days have passed.
You wait for answers because maybe one day they’ll come
But you know they won’t.
