Is Finally Upon Us

1984 is finally upon us

We had to calmly wait till 2024

At least we were not waiting in a desert bus

Forty years in the Sun remained the promised score

We are monitored and observed like a disease

At least it is not COVID-19 anymore

Many think and know it is worse with much unease

As everything we see and hear speaks of the war

Already raging with ignorance to treasonous

Constituting a new force to clearly abhor

The time and place on Earth to meet, as to discuss

This war is passed, since only death is on the floor

The further a society drifts from truth, the more it will hate those who speak it. George Orwell

This alexandrine had to follow an unusual rhyming scheme, namely, abab cbcb abab. It is 1984; I mean 2024, after all.
