Some minds still talk about color supremacy
America what do you see
What have we learned
What will it take for us to see
Gleaning lessons from our own history
So many teaching hatred more than generosity
What is right, what rings true
A democracy that is old and stood the test of time too
Some say it’s because of the children that we fight
The wishes for one child can not overshadow another child’s rights
Lessons and blessings even if you don’t believe what many do
The truth of the matter is what you believe or don’t is only up to you
Remnants to the old age and to the days that now seem new
Giving birth to the hope that will see us through
Generation to generation it seems that much has changed
Still the more things change the truth of the matter remains the same
Life’s lessons are tried and true
Choices to be made are left up to you
