It's weird to think about, really. Time. Hours. Minutes. Seconds. How quickly all of it can be comfortable, stable, familiar- until it just, changes.
It felt that way when I heard each of my children's heartbeats. That one decision, led to this magic happening with my body and creating an eternal soul to fill this world with love, compassion and more magic.
It felt that way when I heard yours. I saw you move a little, like a small shake to let me know you were there. I still imagine the day I would meet you, hear your cry, see your features, learn who you were- I feel robbed of that, I feel you were robbed of that.
It hurts to watch the memories countdown, as if that date isn't seared into my brain with force. Illuminating those dates, the weather, my heart breaking. I was so excited to meet you. I was so excited to know you. I was so excited for your life.
Then came the news, that one 24 hours, after fainting and viewing sepia for hours. No heartbeat? No movement? But he was just there...
Every year I'm reminded, every 12 months, equaling 8760 hours, of every 24 I don't get to spend with you.
Forever my son, may you fly with my love and keep me with you.
