111-Word Short Story: A Boy Finds Beer
My second personal challenge
Barry was a regular 11-year-old kid. He had a paper route, a group of friends from school, and even found there was an abandoned cavern under a bridge.
He showed four of the boys, who were very impressed with their new hideout. They started bringing their own things and scavenged for furniture.
They went after school for weeks, settling into their home away from home.
They talked about school, parents, bullies, and girls. They made up games to play in the dirt.
One day, there was something new inside. It was a sealed glass bottle.
They spent a hour breaking the neck. He finally took a swig… and… oh, how gross!
