Poem #2 Her Last Breath

Her Last Breath

Her Last Breath

It was like a small sigh,

the last one she had left.

I was not ready to

hear her last breath.

Her passing was immanent

I knew this to be true

And you won't understand

until it happens to you

Hearing that sound changed

my life on that day

Realizing that life is

a hard game to play

You don't want to waste it

find a mission to complete

Don't give grass time to

grow under your feet.

Because before you know it

time will pass you by

and you're loved ones will be

listening to your last sigh.
