It was chilly yesterday morning

A brisk breeze decided to

frisk the trees

making them giggle and

flounce around

the leaves were not amused and

hung on for dear life

i lingered as long as i could

then off to sing and exalt

God and thank Him for life

i got hugs yesterday from

people I don't see that often

real hugs

intentional hugs

not the

" what will people think?"

kind of hugs

but real hugs that said

"I appreciate you being here today"

"I'm glad to see you"

" you matter"

and guess what?

i felt like i mattered

to someone who was not interested in

anything more than letting me know

that they valued me

that they cared enough

to pour into me

a meaningful gesture

a simple hug

without fear

without restraint

without a second thought

and somewhere in my parched and

touch-starved soul

a little stream start trickling

across me

and a little garden started

sprouting.

πŸ’šπŸŒ±

β€œThe LORD will guide you continually, And satisfy your soul in drought, And strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.”
