is this how a sentence ends

Like a hot summer day

You plant the hose in between your imprinted hands from your bike handle riding all day long, all tangled up (no helmet on, racing neighborhood boys)

Like a snake so you try your best to unkink it

You turn on it, rickety and rusty and noisy handle

And you drink the hot water like it's Kool-Aid

Until it's a little cool

And you soak it up like a sponge

Summer can't end here

Memories of childhood & mom's rule, "You're either in or out." (No going back & forth.) Drinks from the garden hose & snacks from the rhubarb patch.

Gotta love summer. Great verse and keep up the good work!

  • Like Cathy said, everything is hot. I turn on the cold water to shower and that comes out hot! Loved your poem Merly!

Everything is hot, even the water. Summer, too hot right now. Nicely done.
