Having Ferrets as Pets
So to start this off, I myself have six ferrets so I do know quite a bit about caring for them. I am obviously not a professional so you should definitely do your own research as well, but this is at least the basic to help you get started.

The Pros and Cons of Having a Rabbit as a Pet
They look cute, they hop around, and their fluffy butts are so soft but they aren't that easy. Having a rabbit can be tough and convenient all the same. While they don't require the energy of a dog and are often compared to cats they tend to be rather delicate. I want to break this down into three areas and talk about the pros and cons of each before going into my own take on being a bunny owner. The areas will be affection, maintenance, and temper.

How To Regain Your Confidence After Falling Off a Horse
In November of 2013 I had a bad riding accident. I had spent the summer looking after and riding a mutual friend's horse. I loved this horse but he was ornery to say the least. He had chucked me off a few times but I'd always just dusted myself and jumped right back on. This particular incident didn't end as well. I was riding him bareback when he suddenly decided he wasn't going to listen to me, I sternly told him "don't fight me." Next thing I know I am sailing through the air thinking, "I can fly." Obviously what goes up must come down, and I hit the ground about 3 feet away from the horse. I landed directly on my back and had the wind knocked out of me. It felt like forever before I was finally able to suck in a breath. I eventually managed to stand up and walk the horse back to his stable; as I was putting his bridle back I started coughing into my hand. When I pulled it away I saw blood. I showed my mother who rushed me to the hospital, all the while I was continuing to cough up blood and my breathing was ragged. When we arrived at the hospital the trauma team was waiting for me. I was strapped to a backboard and given emergency x-rays along with a CT scan. I knew it was bad because they bought the x-ray machine to me. I was terrified. 40 mins later I was told that I had collapsed my lung and had a compression fracture of one of my vertebra. I spent the next 3 months unable to lay flat, turn my head, or lift anything weighing more than 5 lbs. I was sure that I would never get on a horse again but I did. Here's how I managed to regain my confidence.

Raising a Stray
When we brought Arno home, we knew that he was going to probably have some problems related to being abandoned and having to fend for himself for the first few weeks of his life. He didn't have anyone taking care or him, in fact, we think he was the caretaker, and the one that went and got the food, because his sibling was much too sick when they were rescued to have taken on that role. Arno was a strong, relatively healthy boy, who was dealt a bad hand when he was born. I don't know what the first 8 weeks of his life looked like, but at 8 weeks old, we welcomed him into our family. He was quick to purr, but wasn't overly affectionate, because he didn't know how. My husband, Kevin, and I showered him with lots of love and kisses (when he tolerated it) and made sure he always had food, water, a litter box, and love.

An Unforgettable Moment
This is my personal experience of the first time I truly realized the vast beauty and authenticity of Mother Nature... It was a hot and bright day in the Abacos Islands, a good one for boating to the stingrays. As I packed my snorkel gear and baseball cap, I looked out into the flat and crystal clear ocean, as it sparkled blue light shimmers into the sky. We loaded the boat and we were off. We were racing across the ocean; salty air filled my nose, as the strong breeze tangled my hair. After what seemed like minutes later, we slowly crept up onto a little bay. Peeking over the edge of the boat, my eyes lit up. Stingrays filled the bay, gently gliding through the shining water. My breath had been taken away by the fascinating, intricately-designed creatures.
