Do you ever notice how somedays all you want to do is lay in bed and just not leave the house? Maybe even just sleep the day away? Yeah me too.

I believe a lot of people feel like this, but why? Mental illness and depression has spiked throughout the years in teenagers, young adults, or just adults themselves. With all of this negativity in the world that you see in tv maybe is taking in affect on our bodies possibly. You can never look on any social media platform without seeing something gloomy or just sad. Why? Maybe because it’s what draws everyone’s attention. Big stories that are upsetting or shocking draws peoples attention to them unlike maybe a dog giving birth to three adorable puppies. So, maybe we are doing this to ourselves by letting social media take a hold of our emotions?

Taking a break from social media doesn’t seem possible to some people, but maybe it’ll change your mood for the better. Then you’ll possibly wanna get up and do something. Go for a swim, hangout with friends that’s you keep ditching cause you “aren’t in the mood”. Get up and do something, I know I’m trying to go out and do more things, listen to a lot more people, even communicate with others or friends.

Tell people how you truly feel, it helps boost your feelings when you finally get off what’s on your chest. Especially telling your friends because 9/10 they usually have your back and will do everything to try and help you. Aside from friends; their are also other communication lines you can always contact if you are in need of help.

Maybe another reason we feel so down is because we are comparing ourselfs. You see all of these beautiful people out on the streets and maybe in your classroom. You tend to think “why can’t I look like them?” But in reality, you DON’T have to be them. Everyone has their own traits, own looks, own personality, so don’t change that! Stay you, cause someone out there loves YOU for YOU.

Some things to help boost your mood:

1. Listen to your favorite songs!! Whatever may I genes gets your heart going and dancing around the room will do.

2. Clean.. might sound not so fun, but with a bit of music and self motivation, you’ll enjoy it! And the outcome of a clean house makes a happy person.

3. Self treat. Maybe food from your favorite restaurant or maybe some yummy dessert! Not hungry? Maybe go shopping for some nice clothes? Get a pedicure or manicure 💅 Always keep your self hygiene up, it makes you feel more bright and clean, that goes along with face care, let that face if yours glow!

4. Social. Be social! Go out with your family or maybe even friends! It doesn’t hurt to ask and maybe you’ll enjoy yourself after all! You could even go with a loved one! Maybe go watch a movie, go to a park, go hiking, maybe even skating! The list of things to do go on and on.

5. Stay off social media for awhile, this includes big news stories. Yes it’s important to know what’s going on in the world, but don’t over work yourself with all of it.

6. Lastly and my personal favorite… TAKE A ROAD-TRIP!! Get out and away from your house! Maybe even your city or state! Go exploring, the world awaits for you. Take pictures, go to museums, try foods or snacks!

So get out of bed, go eat a nice meal, you deserve it. Brush off any negativity in the world and try to make live a bit more exciting. It’s the summer so also stay hydrated and go make some awesome summer plans.
