Why is living in the present moment so important? Let's see why and above all how to live in the present moment.

Many think they live in the present moment. And yet, this is only rarely the case… Most of the time, we think back to the negative moments of the past. Or else we stress about the future. When we should live in the moment and enjoy the moment.

In this article, I will explain why and especially how to live in the present moment. First, I will give you the reasons why living in the present moment is so important. Secondly, I will explain how to live in the present moment.

Why live in the present moment?

What is the present moment?

Defining the present moment is quite simple: it is NOW!

This is the moment we are living in now, it is not the past, nor the future, no it is the present moment. Right now you are reading an article about personal development, in the present moment.

Tonight, for example, you will spend time with your wife, your children, your friends, or even with yourself. And it will be the present moment, the moment when you enjoy them, you have a good time with them. It is also an important moment since you will participate in their future by building good memories with them.

And it is important to emphasize since we all tend to live in two other times:

The past.

The future.

We live in the past because we think about our memories, mostly negative, and this prevents us from living fully.

We live in the future in the sense that we dream of a better future but we forget to enjoy the present moment.

The past is past...

I'm going to say something that may not appeal: we all have an experience, we have all experienced very negative things and we have all suffered misfortunes.

Whatever they are, we have all had sufferings in our past, and believe me, there are always more serious than ours!

Sometimes I complain of being sick, of having had past sufferings, and then I remember that others have had it much worse than me.

And then I also remember that these sufferings have passed, that they are no longer present, and that I no longer have to suffer from them.

I sincerely believe that the best way to live in the present moment is to make peace with your past.

Since if we spend our days thinking about our past sufferings, we will act negatively, and we will not be happy either since we will still have a ball hanging on our feet that pulls us down.

Living in the present moment allows you to make peace with your past, with yourself, and with others to be able to evolve in a healthy, serene, and positive way.

The future is not predictable

Whatever happens, you cannot predict what will happen by the end of the year, in the next 5 years, and even less in the next 30…

And it's important to realize that because it's going to take a weight off your shoulders.

For me, there are two types of people who live too much in the future:

Those who stress and fear for the future.

Those who dream of their future forget to take advantage of the present moment.

The first ones who stress about the future, I will repeat myself: “You cannot predict what will happen by the end of the year, in the next 5 years, and even less in the next 30…“

So live! Don't worry about the future because you don't know how it can evolve.

The seconds who dream of their future, do not forget to live! We all have goals, dreams, and goals in life, but that doesn't have to ruin the moment.

Living in the present moment allows you not to stress about the future and to welcome it with kindness and serenity.
