When planning a lifetime, the soul looks to past life lessons learned and unlearned. There are life areas where you have learned many lessons and don't need to concentrate on as much in this life. There are other life areas where you may need more work.

Maybe you had a difficult marriage in a past lifetime, your soul may have planned to make the life area of love a focus in this lifetime. A life area where we have struggled in the past can sometimes be a bit rocky in this life as we work to bring balance and healing to it.

Creating shifts in how you perceive things so that you can bring in different experiences in the life area.

Using the above example of love once more, if in a past life there was disappointment in love, such as loving someone that you could not be with. This time around the goal will be that love is something more attainable. However, due to the past, this may not be as easy as setting that intention. There may be fears, patterns, and old karma that create obstacles.

Or the soul plan for this life might have to do with family, finances, health or faith. Consider each in the section below.

What life area do you seem to struggle in more than others?

Below are the five main life areas, notice which one stands out and the lessons connected to them. Balance and healing is always the goal for any area of struggle.

Family and home life

Family and home life mean the immediate family you are born into, friends that are close like family, and extended family. Homelife is where you live and what you do in the home. Ideally, we want these areas of life to be stable with lots of supportive people.

If you struggle in this life area it can mean having an unstable home life early on and likely continuing on in life. Family can be unsupporting, there may be an addiction, abuse, absence, abandonment, or perhaps an integral family member passed away early. Whatever the difficulties it means that your basic foundation is less than ideal.

Career and finances

Career and finances represent the work you do, as well as your relationship with money. Career counts for being a student, caretaker, parent, or any work that is not paid but you devote your time and efforts to. Finances have to do with earning money, having money, and your general beliefs around money.

Ideally, this life area is stable and you are able to work in a profession that you enjoy, and are well paid. You receive money easily and don't have any blocks in connection to money and success. If your time consists of unpaid work, it will be something that is uplifting and is in some other way compensated. Such as a student who graduates and is able to secure a job in their field of study eventually. Or a parent who is investing in their child’s well-being.

If you struggle in this life area you will experience obstacles when it comes to money and work. You may find it hard to keep money coming in. Debts and other financial woes may be the norm. You may find it hard to work in a professional you enjoy, having to do work that does not resonate with you. You will likely worry and stress over a lack of money.

Love

This area of life has to do with love of all kinds. Romantic, friend, family, and self. You want to start with self-love and build from there. Ideally in this life area, you have many different types of love in your life and can connect with others for support as well as offer support to those you love. Love helps you feel safe, accepted, nurtured, and valued.

When you struggle in this life area you can feel very lonely. Not only can there be an absence of romantic love but there can be a lack of support in friendships and other relationships. Sometimes we might have one or two strong relationships but are lacking in others. Such as having a strong relationship with a friend or two but no love relationship.

Society pressures us to have a romantic partner, marriage, or at least a long-term partner. It is thought to be unusual if someone doesn't have one in fact. This isn't the perfect solution for everyone, you might not be so much struggling in this life area, if you find yourself alone, unless it brings you a lot of upset.

Health

Having a healthy body to live this life in is not always a guarantee. Ideally, this life area is more or less stable allowing you to enjoy a healthy body. This includes emotional health and well-being. Balanced, both physically and emotionally. This isn't to say there won't ever be times where there is sickness or injury. Everyone goes through something while in a physical body, but ideally, this life area means a healthy mind and body overall.

If this is an area you struggle in, you may have distracting health issues. They may be so much so that they impact other areas of life, such as career, making it hard to work or impossible. The aches and pains of old age, injuries, conditions, diseases, depression, anxiety, and other issues can make life difficult. Like all life areas where we might struggle, there is always a way forward. The soul does not plan for us to get stuck, or linger in pain. It is the mind and free will that can cause this reaction, but the ultimate plan includes a way forward.

Faith

Being immersed in some sort of spiritual path is not always something present in every life, but it is available. This can include religion or any type of faith. Ideally, this life area provides a sense of comfort and guidance, it can be relied on to get you through the hard times in life.

If you struggle in this area you may feel disconnected to higher guidance. You might feel fear, having blocks in spiritual growth and development. This is likely because of past life memories where you were persecuted for your spiritual and religious beliefs.

The lessons

Which life area stood out for you? You should have one that stands out more than the others. This is the area where you are meant to learn the most in this life. Here is a short breakdown of the lessons associated with each life area.

Family and home life- acceptance, service, and compassion

Career and finances- self-worth, security, and freedom

Love- trust, partnership, forgiveness

Health- patience, gratitude, and tolerance

Faith- expression, truth, harmony

Focus on the lessons within the life area that you struggle within, how have the lessons shown up in your life? What has your response been?

We always have room to grow. By observing the lesson, and how you have interacted with it in the past, you change your perception. You shift from being in it to observing it. Rising above, or sitting on the outside, looking in. This gives you insights that can lead to new choices and behavior.
