VVS Laxman is a former Indian cricketer who played for the Indian national team from 1996 to 2012. He is widely regarded as one of India's greatest Test batsmen.

Laxman made his debut for India in 1996, in a Test match against South Africa in Ahmedabad. He had a quiet start to his international career, with scores of 7 and 19 in his first Test match.

However, Laxman's breakthrough came in 2001, during a Test series against Australia. In the second Test match in Kolkata, India was following on after being bowled out for just 171 runs in the first innings. Laxman played one of the greatest innings in Test history, scoring 281 runs in a partnership of 376 runs with Rahul Dravid. This helped India to win the match and to eventually win the series 2-1.

Laxman went on to have a successful Test career for India, scoring 8,781 runs in 134 matches at an average of 45.97. He scored 17 centuries and 56 half-centuries in his Test career.

In addition to his Test career, Laxman also played 86 One Day Internationals (ODIs) for India, scoring 2,338 runs at an average of 30.76.

Overall, Laxman had a distinguished career for India, and he is remembered as one of the most elegant and stylish batsmen to have played the game.

VVS Laxman, who was primarily known for his performances in Test cricket, did not have a very successful ODI career against Australia. In the 20 ODIs he played against Australia, Laxman scored 406 runs at an average of 22.55 and a strike rate of 70.33.

Laxman's highest score in ODIs against Australia was 66, which he scored in Hyderabad in 2001. He scored a total of 3 half-centuries in these matches.

However, it is important to note that Laxman was not a regular member of the Indian ODI team and was often overlooked in favor of other batsmen who were considered to be better suited to the shorter format of the game.

Overall, while Laxman did not have a particularly memorable ODI career against Australia, his performances in Test cricket, especially against the same opposition, were legendary and continue to be talked about to this day.

VVS Laxman was a part of the Indian Premier League (IPL) as a player and also held a role as a mentor and administrator in different teams. He played for the Deccan Chargers team in the first three seasons of the IPL from 2008 to 2010, and later for the Sunrisers Hyderabad team from 2013 to 2014.

During his IPL career, Laxman scored a total of 2,338 runs in 86 matches at an average of 30.76 and a strike rate of 121.67. He also scored 14 half-centuries in the tournament.

After retiring from playing, Laxman took up various roles in the IPL. He served as the mentor for Sunrisers Hyderabad and was also appointed as the batting consultant for the Mumbai Indians in 2018. In addition, he has also been involved in the administration of the tournament, serving as a member of the governing council of the IPL.

VVS Laxman is a former Indian cricketer known for his elegant batting style and his ability to play under pressure. While he has not yet taken on a full-time coaching role, he has worked as a mentor and consultant for various teams, including the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League.

Laxman's vast experience in international cricket, along with his deep understanding of the game, would make him a valuable addition to any coaching staff. As a player, he was known for his technical expertise and his ability to read the game, and he could bring these skills to bear in coaching the next generation of cricketers.

One potential challenge for Laxman as a coach could be adapting to the different personalities and playing styles of individual players. While he was a successful player himself, coaching requires a different set of skills, including the ability to communicate effectively, motivate players, and make strategic decisions.

Overall, while Laxman has not yet taken on a full-time coaching role, his experience and knowledge of the game would make him a valuable asset to any team looking to improve its performance.
