Are you distracted right now?

Have you ever wondered why you seem to be always spinning your wheels and getting nowhere in business? Do you feel like you're always busy, busy, busy but not really making any progress? Does it feel like you're taking one step forward but then two steps back?

If so, it's time to reassess what's going on in your life and business to make you feel this way.

1. You’re Forever In Learning Mode

Are you addicted to learning? Are you a sponge that loves to absorb knowledge?

That’s great! We all know that reading books, taking courses, googling on the interwebs, watching videos, getting coaching can be SUPER helpful. But if you aren’t implementing anything, then you’re not moving forward.

Learning is great, but there comes a time when you need to take all of that knowledge you’ve got stored in your brain, and put it into action. It might feel like you’re taking a giant leap into the unknown, but honestly, you have the tools you need, let’s get those tools dirty!

Use that newly found knowledge to finally grow your business.

2. You Tend To Procrastinate

Procrastination is NOT your friend. How many choices do you really need?

Two?

Ten?

One Hundred?

Why haven’t you made that decision?

Is it because:

  • Your website is almost finished but isn’t quite right?
  • You can’t decide between one platform or another?
  • You can’t decide on what price to put on your thing?
  • You don’t want to release your thing to the world coz it still needs tweaking?

When you avoid taking action because you need to decide on “important” things, it’s going to slow you down!

The truth is, you will never know which decision is the right one until you take that (massive) leap and just TRY!

We all make mistakes but if we don’t try, we don’t move forward.

3. Shiny Object Syndrome

Are also suffering from Shiny Object Syndrome? Not sure? Here’s how to identify it.

Do you find yourself multitasking or changing your mind often?

Yes!

Do you find yourself signing up to one platform then realise there’s a better one out there you need to try?

Yep!

Are you signing up for multiple freebies, in the hope that one of them is the “magic pill” you need?

Of course!

How many emails are you signed up for? Do you read them all before making a decision? Or better still, do you ready ANY of them?

While there is nothing wrong with gaining inspiration from others, if you are forever chasing the “next best thing” you will never grow your business.

Trust me, I've been there!

Shiny Object Syndrome will kill your creativity and kill your business.

4. Fear Of Missing Out (FOMO)

FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) is just as bad. It can give you a feeling of being more inferior than your competition, reduced self-esteem, and increased levels of negativity.

Nobody needs to go through any of that.

With an increase in social media usage and dependency, many people are suffering from FOMO for no real reason, except for what they think they are missing out on.

What Is FOMO?

It's the fear of missing out.

Remember, not everything portrayed on social media is real!

So, NOW is the time to kill those distractions and grow and succeed!

How?

Start assessing what you're spending the most time on. Take note of how much time you're spending:

  • Scrolling Instagram
  • Reading emails
  • Scrolling Facebook
  • Watching Youtube tutorials
  • Creating graphics for social media

If most of your day is spent doing any of the above, it's time to remove those distractions.

Where Do I Start?

Here are just some ideas that you might find helpful.

  • Create a schedule the night before
  • Set goals, and break them down into micro-goals
  • Set a timer
  • Remove social media apps from your phone

All of these tips will help you to move forward and succeed.
