The Only Rule of Success: Never Give Up

When everything falls apart, the only thing that can save you is your refusal to quit.

By Nasibullah TemorPublished 4 months ago • 4 min read

There was a time when I believed success belonged to lucky people.

People with connections.

People with money.

People born in the “right” place.

And then there was me.

No support.

No resources.

No clear path.

Just a dream… and a thousand reasons to give up.

Every morning, I would wake up with hope.

And every night, I would go to sleep with disappointment.

I tried everything.

Online work. Writing. Learning skills. Starting over again and again.

But nothing worked the way I expected.

Some days, I earned nothing.

Some days, I failed so badly that I questioned myself:

"Maybe I’m not good enough."

"Maybe this isn’t for me."

The hardest part wasn’t failure.

It was watching others succeed while I was still struggling.

Scrolling through success stories…

Seeing people win while I stayed stuck.

It felt like life was moving forward—without me.

One night, I almost quit.

I remember staring at my screen, tired, frustrated, and empty.

I said to myself:

"This is pointless. I should stop."

And for a moment… I believed it.

But then something inside me refused to stay silent.

A small voice said:

"What if success is just one more try away?"

That question changed everything.

I didn’t suddenly become successful.

Nothing magical happened.

I still failed.

Again.

And again.

And again.

But this time, something was different.

I didn’t stop.

I started improving little by little.

Learning from mistakes.

Fixing what I did wrong.

Trying smarter instead of just harder.

Every failure became a lesson.

Every rejection became fuel.

Days turned into weeks.

Weeks turned into months.

And slowly… things began to change.

Not big changes.

Small ones.

But they mattered.

My writing improved.

My skills grew.

My confidence returned.

And for the first time… I saw progress.

Then one day, something happened.

Something simple, but powerful.

I succeeded.

Not in a huge way.

Not in a life-changing moment.

But enough to prove one thing:

I wasn’t failing—I was learning.

That’s when I understood the truth.

Success isn’t about being perfect.

It’s not about being fast.

It’s not about never failing.

Success belongs to the person who refuses to quit.

Most people don’t fail because they are not talented.

They fail because they stop trying.

They give up too early.

Right before the breakthrough.

If you are struggling right now…

If you feel stuck…

If you feel like quitting…

Then listen carefully:

You are closer than you think.

Your hard days are not useless.

Your failures are not wasted.

They are building something inside you.

Something strong.

So don’t quit.

Not today.

Not tomorrow.

Not when it gets hard.

Because the only rule of success is simple:

Never give up.

One day, you will look back at this moment…

And you will be glad you didn’t stop.

There were moments no one saw.

Moments where I sat alone, questioning everything.

No applause.

No recognition.

No sign that anything I was doing even mattered.

Just silence.

People often talk about success like it’s loud and exciting.

But the journey?

It’s quiet.

It’s waking up early when you don’t feel like it.

It’s working when no one is watching.

It’s continuing when there is no guarantee of results.

I remember days when even opening my laptop felt heavy.

Not because I was lazy…

But because I was tired of hoping.

Tired of trying.

Tired of failing.

But I made a decision.

Not a big one.

Just a simple promise to myself:

"I will try one more time."

And that “one more time” became my power.

Whenever I failed—I tried one more time.

Whenever I felt weak—I tried one more time.

Whenever I wanted to quit—I tried one more time.

That’s how progress really happens.

Not in giant leaps.

But in small, stubborn steps.

I stopped comparing my journey to others.

Because everyone’s path is different.

Some people win early.

Some people struggle longer.

But struggling doesn’t mean you’re losing.

It means you’re building strength most people don’t have.

I also learned something important:

Failure is not the opposite of success.

It is part of it.

Every mistake I made taught me something valuable.

Something I wouldn’t have learned any other way.

And slowly, my mindset changed.

I stopped asking:

"Why is this happening to me?"

And started asking:

"What can this teach me?"

That shift changed everything.

Because when you learn from failure…

You stop fearing it.

Now, I don’t see obstacles the same way.

They are not walls.

They are tests.

Tests that ask one simple question:

"How badly do you want this?"

And my answer became clear.

I want it enough to keep going.

No matter how long it takes.

No matter how hard it gets.

Because in the end, success is not about talent.

It’s not about luck.

It’s about endurance.

It’s about showing up again and again, even when it hurts.

So if you feel tired right now…

That’s okay.

If you feel lost…

That’s okay too.

Just don’t stop.

Even if all you can do is take one small step forward—

Take it.

Because that step might not look like much today…

But one day, it will be the reason you made it.
