"If you feel like there's something out there that you're supposed to be doing, if you have a passion for it, then stop wishing and just do it." - Wanda Skyes

I would love to gain insight on just exactly how many people worldwide, could honestly say the words "it's not my work, it's my passion", about the job they do, or the business they run. If the statistic that 9 in every 10 people hate the job they are working, is anything to go by, then I'd suggest there would be a absolute minimum number of people that could say these words, and actually be honest about it. The fact is, very few people actually love their job. For most people, work is nothing more than a way of making a living. A job is the only legal option people see fit in which one can generate an income. It's also the only working option that society sees as being acceptable, for that matter. Now working a job is indeed an acceptable option of work, and a legitimate way to earn an income, that's not the issue here. The issue here is that the overwhelming majority of people settle for any old job, and something they actually do not enjoy, or even hate. Actually, for most people, they don't even believe that work can be enjoyable at all. It's not possible to be enjoyable in any way, so society has led us to believe. How is it though that still 1 out of every 10 people can find satisfaction, fulfilment, happiness, and enjoyment in the work they do? This minority group of people are proof that work can indeed be enjoyable, and the secret to finding that enjoyment isn't that difficult to discover, for those who don't like their job. The difference between those who love and enjoy their work, and those who hate and don't enjoy their work, is that the former have made the effort to find something they are passionate about. They have actually done the hard yards, they have done some research, they have applied themselves, they have even potentially made some sacrifices, and they have made the effort to enter into a job or business that they are passionate about. They have refused to settle for any old job, just for the sake of earning an income, like most people do. They knew, that with the right attitude and effort, they could enter into a line of work they truly love and enjoy.

We need an income to adequately survive, there's no disputing that. We can't just simply throw our hands up in the air, state that we hate our job, hand in our resignation, and then sit on our arse for the rest of our life. We need an outlet in which we can be generating an income, so we can buy food to eat, so we can pay our mortgage or rent for shelter, so we can pay our bills for essential services, and so we can pay for clothing to cover ourselves. The question is, why do we just settle for any old job? Every single one of us have a passion of sorts. There is something we are all interested in, be it sport, music, hobbies, art, whatever it may be. Sometimes the job we desire to get into requires certain qualifications, and maybe we need to complete a tertiary education course to gain those qualifications. So what? Do it! Dropping down to part time, in the job we are in, may be the short term solution and sacrifice we need to make, in order to gain long term satisfaction and happiness in our career. Sometimes our passion may be something we need to create a business for, in order to make it a viable working option. Do it! Be prepared to take risks and invest time, effort, and money into something that you are passionate about. Why would anyone want to spend 40 to 50 years of their life unhappy, all because they are doing something they dislike, day in, day out?

Don't be afraid to let go of your existing paycheck, in order to pursue something your passionate about. Sure, it may take some hardship, you will likely face many challenges, you may lose financially, you will encounter many failures, you will face many rejections, and you will have to make many sacrifices. In fact, you will likely face a number of years of this type of adversity, but in the end, with the right attitude, belief, commitment, and work ethic, you will establish yourself in a career that you are passionate about, and that will bring you great satisfaction and happiness. One thing that passion often leads to, is success. We naturally work more effectively, productively, and efficiently, when we do something we enjoy. We feel motivated and inspired to do the work, and we more often give it our best efforts. That's how success is generated. So make the effort to identify what you are truly passionate about in life. What is something you would love to do for a career? Next, identify the steps and actions you need to take to make it your career! Be prepared for a difficult journey ahead, but one that will provide you with invaluable experience, education, growth, and development, and one that will be well and truly worth it. Don't wait for that "right moment", because that right moment is now! Pursue your passion, and make your career an enjoyable, fulfilling, and satisfying one.
