Vocal
Reassessing My Writing Goals. Honorable Mention in New Year, New Projects Challenge.
A few months ago, I tried setting and sharing writing goals for each month on Vocal. I wanted to make $1 from reads and go a full month with at least one read per day in my stats. I made some of these goals when I hoped, but it became easier to reach my goals when I stopped focusing on them so much.

My 2025 Resolution
As we step into a new year, the air feels charged with possibility. Like many others, I’ve reflected on what I want to achieve and how I want to grow in 2025. This year, my resolution centers on two powerful goals: embracing the Law of Expectation and maximizing productivity across all areas of my life. These twin pursuits are not just about ticking boxes on a checklist but about transforming the way I live, work, and connect with others.

Breaking Through Writer's Block in 2025
I've heard that I was born bossy- I prefer to interpret that as being a born leader. Maybe that's wishful thinking but it is true that I've always enjoyed teaching people new things and watching them use their new knowledge to succeed.

My Little Book . Honorable Mention in New Year, New Projects Challenge.
I often forget how inspiration can come from irritation. I waited a while before contemplating this particular challenge. I had the annual trip home to see the folks and other wondrous sites of my hometown (irony detected), and then, two days after my return, caught a very bad cold and had to spend most of a weekend indoors imbibing soup and tea (if I am ever reincarnated, it will have to be with the name Campbell or Twining). And then, on wobbly legs and with less than a hundred percent stamina rating, I went in to the college to begin another semester of teaching.

Seeking Something More
Another year has gone, and a new one begins. Everyone makes resolutions, goals, or whatever name you want to call them. I've grown tired of resolving to do something that won't amount to anything achieved by the end of another year. So I am done with setting "resolutions".

Resolutions
New Year's resolution noun: a promise to do something differently in the new year. ~ Every year, the clock counts down. Our voices raise to the sky. Ten..nine..eight all the way to one. A kiss to Auld Lang Syne. Then, a New Year is born, and we all have the chance to start again. To make this year the year, we jump our hurdles, crawl out of the holes we've dug ourselves into, and keep climbing our ladders of success.

Plans, or Lack Thereof
I’m just sitting here, supposing I should write about my projects for 2025. I suppose it would be easier if I actually knew what they were, or if I didn’t feel that I was the project that most needed working on. But here I am, mid-January, staring at my laptop attempting to draft an article on all my sky-high plans, or my lack thereof, for this year.

New Year’s Resolution 2025: The Year I Finally Write My Novel
When the clock struck midnight, the sky exploded as if it had decided to announce to the world that 2025 had arrived in all its glory and brilliance. Fireworks were going off in the air as if competing in a cosmic beauty contest, each one trying to outdo the other in its brilliance and colors. I stood on my balcony, a cup of hot tea in hand, trying to warm my hands as I watched the world celebrate. But my mind was occupied with one thought: this is the year I will finally write my novel.
