How My Social Anxiety Changed My View on Social Situations
When I first started to realize that my anxiety wasn’t just a “phase” or something I could easily get over, I found myself starting to look at social situations a lot differently. It’s like being handed a pair of glasses that are always foggy or cracked – you can see the world, but everything is tinted and distorted. Social interactions became... well, confusing.

The Real Reason Manifestation Works: The Science Behind Your Brain’s Filter
Have you ever decided you wanted a certain car, and suddenly, you see it everywhere? Or started learning a new word, and then you hear it in every conversation? Or—when you believe that “all men are emotionally unavailable,” you somehow only meet emotionally unavailable men? It’s not that these things didn’t exist before—it’s that your brain started recognizing them more. This isn’t magic. It’s your Reticular Activating System (RAS) at work. The RAS is a small network of neurons in your brainstem that filters reality based on what it thinks is important. Right now, it’s already shaping your life—including your relationships—without you even realizing it. How the RAS Controls What You See (And Why It’s Keeping You Stuck) Your brain is constantly bombarded with millions of bits of information per second. If it didn’t filter things out, you’d be overwhelmed. That’s where the RAS comes in—it acts as a "gatekeeper" that decides what you consciously notice and what you ignore. But here’s the catch: The RAS only focuses on what YOU tell it is important. For example If you start thinking, “I really want a black Jeep,” your RAS will start highlighting every black Jeep on the road. It’s not that there are suddenly more black Jeeps—it’s just that your brain has now tagged them as important. Your focus literally programs this filter. If you focus on fear, failure, and negativity, your brain finds proof of it everywhere. If you focus on opportunities, success, and good things, your brain starts pulling them into your awareness. Now apply this to love and relationships. Why You Keep Attracting the Wrong People (And How to Fix It) If you constantly focus on "There are no good men left," guess what happens? Your RAS will: ✔ Filter out men who are kind, stable, and emotionally available because they don’t fit your belief. ✔ Highlight men who match your expectation of "unavailable" or "toxic" partners. ✔ Reinforce your belief that love is hard, men are disappointing, and you’re destined for bad relationships. The RAS doesn’t care if your beliefs are true or false—it just works to confirm them.If you believe “All men cheat”, you’ll ignore the faithful, committed men and only notice the ones who fit your belief. You’ll attract men who are unavailable, and when they betray you, it will feel like “proof” that you were right all along. But the truth is, your brain was filtering your options the whole time. How to Train Your Brain to Attract the Right Love (Or Anything You Want in Life) Just like you can accidentally train your RAS to attract bad experiences, you can also train it to work FOR you instead of against you. Step 1: Identify What You’re Subconsciously Manifesting • Ask yourself: “What beliefs do I have about love, success, and myself?” • Be brutally honest. Are you always saying things like “I always attract the wrong men” or “Love never works out for me”? Step 2: Reprogram Your RAS with New Beliefs Your brain takes written and spoken words seriously—so give it new instructions. Instead of saying “There are no good men left”, say: ✔ “I easily attract people who are emotionally available and aligned with me.” ✔ “Love flows effortlessly into my life.” ✔ “I always meet the right people at the right time.” At first, your RAS won’t believe it. But if you keep repeating it, your brain will start adjusting. Step 3: Consciously Shift Your Focus • Start looking for proof of good relationships and healthy love. • Follow social media pages that highlight positive love stories. • Spend time with couples who have what you want, instead of listening to people who complain about love. • When you meet a kind, emotionally available man—even if you don’t feel instant chemistry—acknowledge that he exists. Step 4: Take Actions That Align With the New Reality You can’t just think positive—you also have to act in a way that aligns with what you want. ✔ If you want a healthy love, stop entertaining people who don’t match that. ✔ If you want to feel more attractive, take care of yourself like someone who is already attractive. ✔ If you want a fulfilling life, start living as if you already have one—because your RAS will adjust to match it. Final Thoughts: Your Brain Is Already Filtering Reality—Make Sure It’s Filtering the Right Things Right now, your RAS is shaping your love life, your opportunities, and your confidence. The good news? You have full control over how it works. If you want a better love life, a better career, a better reality—start training your RAS today. The world you experience will follow. The question is: Are you programming it to work for you, or against you? What you focus on expands. Train your RAS to find the things you actually want, and your entire life will shift.
