Celebrating Impact: Meghan Markle
What can be said about this intelligent, independent, and compassionate woman who is using her platform to make such a difference in empowering others; words that haven't already been said about her? So many truths - and even lies - about her life have been put into print that I do not intend to add much more to it. This is mainly to give my own perspective of why I've included her in my trailblazing list.To me, she is the ideal role model for all women, particularly Black ones, in all sorts of ways. But first, a few brief words about her background.
Elaine SiheraPublished 6 months ago in MotivationDO I NEED TO COMPENSATE FOR MY WEAKNESSES WITH MY STRENGTHS?
Should I use my strengths to balance out my weaknesses? That’s a question that’s crossed my mind more than once. Life can be challenging, and when those challenges appear is when I truly ask myself this. Some people suggest that we should only concentrate on our strengths, but others say we should acknowledge our weaknesses and work to enhance them. I don’t know which side is right.

I don’t use Medium. I set up an account some time ago but I’ve yet to do anything with it. It’s hard to explain why… perhaps I just don’t find the interface particularly friendly or engaging. There is some lack I feel about it. Some unexplainable void vibe. I’m really not sure what it is exactly… there is just something that doesn’t feel friendly about it. It’s not to say I won’t use it, just that I haven’t so far.

In a fascinating 2019 study, over 400 participants embarked on a journey to learn a mysterious, invented language. What made this experiment truly captivating was the unique twist it held. The participants were presented with three pairs of runes, each concealing a hidden meaning. For instance, they were asked to decipher which of two characters represented an animal. After a brief break, they were posed with the same rune pairs, but this time the questions were reversed: Which of these two runes represents a non-living object? Little did they know that their responses in round one would determine the runes' meanings in round two.

In the heart of the Bronx, where vibrant young minds yearn to express themselves through the lens, I found my calling. Teaching photography to kids has been my passion, and with each class, I've learned just as much as I've imparted. But as I encourage my students to embrace the spontaneity of photography, I can't help but reflect on my own struggles with letting go and shooting from the heart.

I've always felt an inexplicable connection with children who have special needs. As a child myself, I owned a collection of stuffed animals, and I'd meticulously arrange them in rows, imagining myself as their teacher. Among this plush menagerie, there was a bear named Moscow, bearing a broken eye and a ripped ear. I made it my mission to ensure that the other stuffed animals treated Moscow with extra care and kindness. Little did I know that these tender moments would ignite a lifelong passion for special education.

As the day approached when my younger brother decided to embark on a path towards priesthood, I found myself at odds with a whirlwind of emotions. He believed he was being called, while I was convinced he was being brainwashed. I thought he was too young to make such a life-altering decision, one that would shape his entire future. The idea of him as a priest was challenging for me, as I grappled with the fear that every conversation would inevitably revolve around God and the constant unease that I would feel guilty around him.
