Of Joys, and Pains, and Blessings
I don't even know where to start counting my blessings for 2017. Although I haven't had much of material things to boast, graces and blessings abound in terms of family, love, friends, and personal and emotional growth. This year gave me a number of reasons to say that life is indeed beautiful despite all its imperfections.

How Creating a Vision Board Inspired Me to Dream
Lame and cliché title, I know. BUT! Hear me out, (please). A few years ago, my father and I were sitting in front of the television while I was visiting and, as per usual, we weren’t doing much. We weren’t really talking either, things have always been awkward between us so we just stay quiet most of the time. Anyway, I picked up the book he had laying on the coffee table, it read The Secret. I looked through the pages reading philosophical passages about this mysterious “Law of Attraction” and things like “The Law of Attraction is one of the most powerful laws in the universe. What you think about is what you bring about into your life. You can improve your life drastically by improving the thoughts that you dwell upon and the actions that you take.”

Learning Who I Am
I've been looking back at 2017 as it ends, and I can see how big the year was. I started the year out on vacation with my husband in Colorado Springs. We went to the top of Pikes Peak for New Years Day. I couldn't have known just how symbolic that was going to be.

What to Do in 2018!
2018 is at the doorstep (or already here, depending on when you read this), but what will you do to make the year count? You've thought about it, but then also thought about what's for lunch...and then Nom Nom Nom. It seems silly to waste another year with the same old same old. Let me introduce you to some MEGA-awesome things to learn OR do to make 2018 feel like an achievement!

Achievements
What are you most proud of this year? It's a hard question to answer, for many reasons. Maybe you think that you've achieved SO much in 2017 that it's hard to pinpoint what your biggest achievement is. Everything you've done is just so good. Well done, you.

My New Year's Resolutions for 2018
Alright, so it's that time of year where people make their resolutions for the New Year. We all say we're going to do this, we're going to do that, but then we never do half of the things we said we were going to do. I'm one of those people, but I still like to make that list so at least I know I'm working toward something at some point.

What I Learned While Taking a Bachata Lesson
On Friday night I was bored as ever. Just moving to my mom’s small hometown almost three years ago, I met quite a few new people but all of them were much older than I, and they were more of my mom’s friends. With no real friends of my own, as all of my best friends lived out of state, I decided I needed a new adventure, solely of my own choosing. Mom and her friends had tickets to a semi-formal gala for some club or charity she and my family had supported. Faced with having to find a dress or pantsuit and strappy shoes to throw on, it just didn’t feel right. Did I really want to spend my night sitting and listening to people talk about things I had no idea of or cared to be bothered with? I had grown tired of settling for a Friday night at home but I didn’t want to end up at a nightclub or bar either.

New Year's Resolutions
A new year, a new beginning. 2018 is upon our horizon, but with every new year comes new resolutions. Everybody, young and old, has had a new year's resolution at least once in their short or long lifetime. It could be anything from losing weight to becoming a new person completely.

I Haven't Done My Butt Exercises in 192 Days
I haven't done my butt exercises in 192 days. That's after having installed an app on my phone specifically for butt exercises. That's even after having adjusted the settings to remind me to do butt exercises every day.

Terrified to Live
At my ripe old age of 27, I shouldn't be this scared of life. My life consists of work and home. That's it. There are so many things that I want to achieve in my life, but I just can't bring myself to do any of them. I am frozen. I was so worried about all the ways that I could fail and disappoint my parents that I never followed through with college. I got into three different places and then the worry set in. What if I failed all my classes? What if I was just terrible at it? I've never even had a meaningful relationship because I am so scared that my timid heart will get broken and I'll never get over it.
