Executive and Entrepreneurs: Here is How to Use Silence to Your Advantage
While silence can be awkward, learning how to use it at the right moment can be powerful. Conventional wisdom tells us that if you make your voice heard, be it in a classroom, in a board meeting or at a networking event, you are going to get what you want. One of the quotes that tends to resonate with my thinking is: “the loudest in the room is the weakest in the room”. And what I have learned in over 25 years as an entrepreneur and as I senior advisor is that decision makers appreciate quiet leadership as they often associate that with mature judgment. My advice today is going to be how to use silence to your advantage both in your personal and professional life.

Weight Loss
Oats vs Corn Flakes If you’re trying to lose some pounds, then choosing between oatmeal and cornflakes may seem like a no-brainer. But they have different effects on our body – and how we feel after eating them. So, what exactly makes these two superfoods so different?

How Do I Get Out of a Reading Slump?
I know I’m not alone when saying the lockdowns in 2020 got me back into reading again. The largest piece of evidence is the boom of BookTok, a space where creating social media about books, reading, authors, and other publications has become more mainstream than it had been. Not that reading ever went “out of style,” but you know what I mean.

Emotional intelligence boosts business growth and it should be prioritized during economic downturns
Emotional intelligent people can identify, manage, evaluate, and understand their own emotions and the emotions of people they interact with. We can think of emotional intelligence as the combination of your personality, charisma, and social awareness. When Salovey and Mayer two of the global experts created the expression emotional intelligence in 1990, they described it as "a form of social intelligence that involves the ability to monitor one’s own and others’ feelings and emotions, to discriminate among them, and to use this information to guide one’s thinking and action." Another way to think of Emotional Intelligence, is to combine, Self-Awareness + Social Awareness, and Self-Management + Relationship Management. No matter what definition you follow, most subject matter experts including TalentSmart, agree that among 33 critical professional skills prioritized, emotional intelligence is the leading differentiator in work and personal performance, and it is responsible for over 60% of people professional’s and personal achievements.

The Habits That Shape Us
Every day, we make choices. What we choose to do with our time, whom we choose to associate with, what we choose to eat and drink, how we choose to spend our money—all of these things shape our habits. And our habits shape us. They shape our identities.

Dealing With Loneliness
If you are feeling lonely as you are reading this, you are not alone. The reason why I put this story together is because I know what it is like. Loneliness is a topic that is very close to my heart because I have been through the depths of emptiness, meaningless feelings many times and I am not new to that kind of feeling. I have felt every gripping moment of it. The long, long hours which seem like days, the lonely nights where I weep in silence, drenching my pillow salty with tears, the lack of desire to face the next day and the thought of wanting to end it all!

How Do You know If Your Idea is Good Enough ?
The next day, something that seemed like a brilliant plan the day before appears like a complete waste of effort. The truth of the matter is that most ideas are decent, but there are also those ideas that are truly outstanding. The kind of ideas that you know you will regret forgetting if you do not jot them down on the nearby napkin, cigarette package, or toilet wall.

How To Listen More Effectively To Audiobooks & Remember Everything
Why you don't remember anything after you finish an audiobook? We don't listen to audiobooks just for the sake of it. Our goal is to remember and use the newly acquired information for the future. In order to make knowledge stick, we should use practical and scientific approaches.
