"Productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning, and focused effort." - Paul J. Meyer

To be productive is to achieve a significant amount of something, or a result. I suppose we need to ask ourselves the question, how productive are we being in our own individual life? Are we creating significant amounts of something worthwhile and beneficial in our life? Are we generating results? There are five things that spring to mind when I think of generating results in life, them being health, happiness, success, prosperity, and our goals. Now you may wonder why I have included health and happiness in this list of achieving results, and the reason being is that if we are maintaining a healthy, active, and fit lifestyle, coupled with feeling satisfied and fulfilled with our lifestyle, and a constant progression in our life, then that is a definite achievement. That is a great result in itself. Good health can only be achieved from maintaining a balanced diet, rich with plenty of vegetables and fruit, along with ongoing daily exercise. Health is not restricted to just diet and exercise though, we also can't dismiss our mental health, which means we need to be ensuring we are making decisions that are in our best interest and wellbeing, and executing the actions that are working towards helping us find happiness, whilst having the mental strength to ward off the stresses and worries that life constantly delivers. Mental health of course links to happiness, and if we want to achieve that result of long term and ongoing happiness, we indeed need to be making decisions and taking action in working towards creating that happiness and satisfaction in our life. Those decisions we make, and actions we take, in regards to both our health and happiness, they come back to how productive we are, how committed we are to looking after ourselves, and prioritizing these two aspects of our life above everything else.

The best way to invite happiness into our life is to achieve our goals, because achieving what we desire is naturally going to deliver us a burst of satisfaction and joy. That's the third aspect on that list of productivity, I mentioned above. I talked of health and happiness being our two main priorities in life, but goals should definitely be a third on that list, because they give us purpose, they give us direction, and they give us hope. The problem with goals though is that most people don't prioritize them because they get too caught up in their everyday life, dedicating most of their time to their job, or their business, or non-productive activities such as watching television, or browsing through social media. Time is precious, therefore we need to be using every single minute available to us, and that means being productive. It means making sacrifices of the more leisurely and enjoyable activities, and trading them in for working on the actions that are leading towards our goals. We need to get out of this foolish mindset that we have time on our side, that we will be able to focus on our goals in the future, when we are less busy, or that our goals will miraculously come to us one day soon. We need to get working on them, starting today! This leads us to the fourth aspect of productivity, being success. Goals naturally generate success, as after all, when we achieve our goals, we are accomplishing something. Once we find the resilience and perseverance to continually overcome all the failures, setbacks, and rejections along the journey to our goals, once we complete the years of suffering and hard work, to the point we finally achieve our goals, it then opens up a whole new world for us. We find ourselves confronted with the blessing of new opportunities. We can achieve promotions at work, or any other results in life, but if we haven't a true passion for what we have succeeded in, it's not really success.

Most people make the mistake of placing money and wealth as their priority, their ultimate goal in life, so their decisions and actions are centered around chasing it, but that's all they ever find themselves doing. Prosperity is the fifth aspect of productivity, and that normally comes off the back of successfully completing a goal. Those who normally create wealth do it as a result of applying themselves to something they are truly passionate about, being their goals and their work. There's no motivation and inspiration in doing something you are not passionate about, so how are you expected to generate wealth and prosperity from something that doesn't drive you? A lack of motivation, inspiration, and drive, is naturally going to decrease one's level of productivity. When you desire something so desperately enough, you go all out for it. You commit your time to it, you are resilient to failures, setbacks, rejections, and opposition, you remain patient, you remain focused, and you persevere until you achieve it. Passion is what drives productivity, and productivity then leads to prosperity. Each action you take along the journey to achieve your goals, success, and prosperity, is a result. Even the failures along the way are still progress, and signs that you are at least working towards your goals, and that you are being productive. So again, I pose the question to you, how productive are you being in your own individual life? Are you really focusing on a life blessed with happiness, good health, success, goal accomplishment, and prosperity, or are you too focused on living day to day, prioritizing activities that are non-productive? That answer becomes evident in your daily decisions and actions. Is it time that you started becoming more productive?
