Positive affirmations for success

Be positive!

Throughout the coaching and self-help worlds, positive affirmations are often utilized to assist people in developing new, more positive thought processes about themselves and their life. The goal is to increase one's sense of self-worth and confidence. This seems to be an excellent goal; yet, we are all aware that it may be a difficult job for many of us.

If you are prone to feelings of worry, dread, and pessimism about your life and the world, you are certainly not alone in your feelings. Humans have evolved to be essentially focused on what might go wrong in our environment, looking for possible dangers to our own survival as a result of evolution.

This Velcro wiring that we have dates back thousands of years to a time when humans were exposed to more danger and less safety. Our fight or flight systems urged us to search for threats first in order to be safe, and then to anticipate the worst-case scenario if we didn't find any. e.g., Is that the wind blowing the grass in your direction? Possibly a mouse, but more than likely an alligator or tiger. If you see anything, your brain is programmed to think it's a tiger and rush up that tree just in case.

That circuitry is still there in our lives today. It leads us to believe that things will go wrong, while simultaneously wearing down our optimism and increasing our worry and dread. Our success depends on our ability to let go of our fear of failure. Consider the bright side of any situation and learn to accept and appreciate life's changes. In our world, there is always a positive aspect to everything. By maintaining a positive attitude, we will ultimately move one step closer to achieving our goals.

One of the most astounding marvels about humans is the incredible capacity our bodies have to regenerate and rejuvenate itself. It may be found in our fingernails, hair, and skin on a daily basis. We may even strengthen our muscles by exercising regularly!

One area of our brains where we don't often recognize or even appreciate this capacity is the frontal lobes. You may think of your brain as a muscle that grows and changes over time. It is possible to acquire new abilities and break old habits at any age because of the neuroplasticity of our brains.

Our brains are similar in several ways. When we are learning a new ability, we must concentrate our thoughts on that skill and remind ourselves to do so on a frequent basis in order to build new neural pathways. From time to time, we will also revert to our old habits and behaviors. The good news is that if we continue with it, we will eventually learn to naturally follow that new route that will take us to achievement.

When we look at what we are doing when we repeat positive affirmations, we can see that we are assisting in shifting our thinking patterns in a good way. When you write or speak a positive affirmation, you want to make sure that you FEEL it to be TRUE in your heart and mind.

In life, doubt may be a negative energy that prevents us from manifesting and achieving the goals and aspirations that we have for ourselves. Whatever we do, no matter how hard we try, nothing will be able to get that river out of its rut. Would it make sense to suggest that we should strive to be confident in our affirmations? Would that make sense? Is it because we want them to feel genuine? The repeating of affirmations is what leads to the development of belief. And once that belief is solidified into a strong conviction, things start to happen.
