Inspirational Stories of Successful People

Born into poverty, Abraham Lincoln faced defeat throughout his life, losing eight times in eight campaigns, twice in business, and even having a nervous breakdown. Many times he could have given up, but he didn't, and because he didn't give up, he became one of the greatest presidents of the United States. The following is Lincoln's biography before he entered the White House.

In 1816, his family was evicted from their home and he had to work to support them; in 1818, his mother died; in 1831, he failed in business; in 1832, he ran for state representative but lost; in 1832, he also lost his job and tried to attend law school but could not get in; in 1833, he borrowed money from a friend to start a business but went bankrupt at the end of the year, and it took him sixteen years to pay off his debts; In 1834, he ran for state representative again and won!

In 1835, he was engaged to be married, but his last wife died, so his heart was broken; in 1836, he had a complete mental breakdown and was bedridden for six months; in 1838, he fought to become the speaker of the state legislature, but was unsuccessful; in 1840, he fought to become an elector, and failed; in 1843, he was defeated in the general election for Congress; in 1846, he fought again in the general election for Congress and was elected this time! He went to Washington, D.C., and performed well; in 1848, he failed to seek re-election to Congress!

In 1854, he ran for the U.S. Senate and lost; in 1856, he fought for the vice presidential nomination at the Republican National Convention and received less than a hundred votes; in 1858, he ran again for the U.S. Senate and lost again; in 1860, he was elected president of the United States.

The road was hard and muddy. I slipped on one foot and lost my footing on the other; but I took a breath and told myself, "It's just a slip, not a death and a rise." --So said Abraham Lincoln after he lost his bid for the Senate.

So, persevere and never give up is exactly the kind of quality spirit that our generation of post-90s needs the most, and if you want to know anyone who has never given up at the end, then you don't have to look for it anymore!

Carnegie was a recognized bad boy as a child, and was even considered a hopeless child. When his father married his stepmother into the family and introduced Carnegie to her, he was told by his father that he was useless, but his stepmother did not resent Carnegie, but expressed affirmation and encouragement to him. Therefore, we sometimes need a word of encouragement, even if there is no encouragement from others, we must also motivate ourselves, because the eagle, without the need for applause, is also flying. Weeds, no one's heart, is also growing, as a new generation of post-90s, we need to self-encouragement with a new attitude to integrate into this society, into the world, to become the master of the world.

The so-called successful people are like the movie "to always coincide with the needs of the times" to adhere to the times, the country is advocating to keep pace with the times can continue to move forward, not to mention that we as a young student, as a contemporary post-90s. Each of our young people have wanted to change the world, but we have also been hit hard by the world, but we never give up the pursuit of dreams after 90, because for us now, the road is still long, there is still a lot to do, what else is more important than having a heart that is unwavering to the dream? People say that the mistakes made in youth can be forgiven because it is so fragile, so fragile that it only accounts for a few years of a long life, but it is in these few years, we will get the wealth that we will not have in the future life: a lifetime of benefit of knowledge, friends who suffer together and the sweat and tears shed in the pursuit of dreams.
