I Once Quit My First YouTube Channel
I don't think I was in the right head space for a project like this.

I'm not sure if I ever talked about this personal journey of mine when it came to my first YouTube channel, but I feel it's important to share this.
I once started a YouTube channel, about 2 to 3 years ago.
It turns out that I wasn't ready at the time.
I was getting decent views at the time too, but I was not in the right mindset.
I had been going through a lot during this period, and it was the first time when the pandemic had begun back in 2019. At first, I was thrilled with the thought of being home, and starting a YouTube channel, but what I didn't realize, was that I was secretly going crazy.
Deep down, I couldn't stand the thought of not interacting with people anymore. The pandemic occurred during my college years, and I wasn't able to return back to college for my in person classes anymore.
Everything was now online, and I couldn't stand it.
The people I would have enjoyed meeting in person, was now a virtual meetup. That same magical feeling that I once felt in person was now gone, and I felt trapped in this odd Wonderland of the internet.
To cope, I decided to start a YouTube channel.
Like the one that I am currently working on, it was also a horror channel.
However, I wasn't in the good head space for this.
I was going through something else at the time too, and it had been addressed by my loved ones.
Apparently I was not acting like myself anymore.
I was always angry all the time, and I became so negative about everything, not really caring about doing anymore. This negativity also went to the channel, and instead of feeling like a fun project, it turned into a job that I absolutely hated.
I used the channel as a coping mechanism, and that was my biggest mistake.
This mindset ruined my motivation for the channel, and I started posting without a schedule, and I barely even stayed consistent. I only posted once a week, but even then, it felt so boring to me at the time.
I felt like the channel was just lying there, and every time I was getting ready to post again, I only felt frustration.
Eventually, when the pandemic was finally going back to normal, I decided to make a decision.
I deleted my first YouTube channel.
It turned out to be the best decision that I could have made, and I did not feel a thing.
That told me that I was not ready for a YouTube channel.
I went back to college, and things slowly went back to normal. I graduated college, and right now, as I'm looking for a job, I have currently started working part time.
And I decided to start a brand new YouTube channel.
This time, it truly felt like I was being myself.
Instead of putting on an act like I did with the first one, it felt so natural to be myself for the second channel.
Now I have my own schedule, my own platform to upload my videos, and the best part, is that I love what I'm doing.
I never thought that it was imperative to have a good mindset for something like this, and I'm glad that I experienced it firsthand, because having a good mindset is key to starting a huge project like this.
I'm now content with my new channel, and I'm determined to accomplish my goal of reaching 4,000 public watch hours!
