In this post you will get to know the benefits of joining 5AM club and what does waking up at 5 does for your studies, religious, personal and professional life.

Legendary leadership and elite performance expert Robin Sharma introduced The 5 am Club concept over twenty years ago, based on a revolutionary morning routine that has helped his clients maximize their productivity, activate their best health and bulletproof their serenity in this age of overwhelming complexity.

I started reading this book about 10 days ago and as a speed reader I already finished reading it in like 3 days. So I had to start it again because this book is so full of information that you can not grab it all in 3 days only. This book opened my eyes to a lot of stuff I was ignoring all the time. It motivated me to do better in my college studies, and in my religious and personal life. Robin Sharma has explained everything so beautifully and made it so easy to understand that I just fell in love with his way of writing. I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone who is willing to make a change in his life.

How I was before joining the 5Am club

I was always a little disturbed and there was a kind of fog in my mind and I could not think straight. I was failing daily in my class tests and exams, I was not studying at all because i just did not feel like it. In my religion, It is Obligatory to pray 5 times a day, I wasn’t doing that too. I was so emotionally unstable that I kept crying unexpectedly. This book introduced me to a morning routine that I am sure now will make the greatest and It also thought me that being average is not fine at all, we all need to unlock our potential and a believe that we were made to do great things and conquer all our goals.

If you want to be like the top 5%, you need to stop acting like the 95%.

This is a quote from The 5AM Club which I am greatly inspired by. It actually elaborates that 95% of the people wake up at 7 that too being grumpy and then let the day take over. THESE ARE AVERAGE PEOPLE. This is how we act, but the most rich and successful people have a revolutionary morning routine that makes their day perfect and it helps them greatly to achieve great things. We are made to believe that average is our real state, No, Being Great is our natural state. We see many great people and we think that what they are today is because of their luck, but that is not the case, they got there by rigorous hard work and consistent efforts . Big changes are made by small daily habits. There is also another part of this book that I think explains our condition today.

In a culture of cyber-zombies, addicted to distraction and afflicted with interruption, the wisest way to guarantee that you consistently produce mastery-level results in the most important areas of your professional and personal life is to install a world-class morning routine. Winning starts at your beginning. And your first hours are when heroes are made.

Wage a war against weakness and launch a campaign against fearfulness. You truly can get up early. And doing so is a necessity in your awesome pursuit toward legendary.

Take excellent care of the front end of your day, and the rest of your day will pretty much take care of itself. Own your morning. Elevate your life.

Here’s the precious little secret that the titans of industry, the standout performers of artistry and the ultra-achievers of humanity will never share with you: gargantuan results are much less about your inherited genetics and far more about your daily habits. And your morning ritual is by far the most essential one to calibrate. And then automate.

When we see the icons in action, the forceful seduction sold to us by our civilization is to believe they were always that great. That they were born into their exceptionalism. That they won the fortunate DNA lottery. That their genius was inherited. Yet the truth is that we are watching them in their full blazing glory after years of following a process, one that involved ceaseless hours of practice. When we observe magnificent players in business, sport, science and the arts we are observing the earned results of a monomaniacal concentration around a single pursuit, astronomical focus on one skill, intensity of sacrifice applied to one aim, unusual levels of deep preparation and extreme amounts of solid patience. Remember, every professional was once an amateur, and every master started as a beginner. Ordinary people can accomplish extraordinary feats, once they’ve routinized the right habits.

So, I was so motivated that I decided to follow the routine that was mentioned in this book. By now you may be wondering if it’s so important to wake up at 5 a.m. What should I do when I’m up so early? It’s entirely possible to wake up this early and waste the extra time by using it to watch the news or scroll through social media.

The book however lays out the perfect plan: the 20/20/20 rule, which says you should 20 minutes on three highly valuable activities each.

The first 20 minutes of that first hour should consist of exercise. Help your body wake up, and make your body sweat. Sweating decreases cortisol, the hormone responsible for stress and fear. Sweat also releases BDNF, the brain-repairing neurotropic factor, which speeds up the creation of new neural pathways and repairs brain cells. If you want to think quicker, make sure you get sweaty!

The next 20-minute block should consist of reflection and meditation. The peace you find this early will make way for more inspiration than you thought possible. Make time to write these in your journal. Take the time to focus on what you want out of the day before you get distracted. And don’t forget meditation, which has been shown to reduce cortisol which will reduce your stress.

Finally, make time to learn. Instead of wasting time on useless entertainment, spend time reading and learning. Learn from the successful people of the world. What all the ultra-rich have in common is a love of learning..

How following the 5AM routine helped me

I followed this routine for like the past 7 days and it was so amazing. Like It was really hard to wake up at 5am, but the trick is to immediately wake up before your mind starts to think about the pros of sleeping in. So It has already started to effect my life in a positive way. I feel way more productive through out the day and also a lot more energized. I have also started studying as now I have a lot of time on my hands and other than that I have been doing a lot for myself and my goals.

Conclusion

If you’re ready to take your life to the next level and become great, it all starts with an effective morning routine. Through The 5AM club, we learn exactly how to do this, and an exciting fictional story to illustrate it comes as a bonus. The science-backed case Sharma makes for joining the 5 AM Club is likely convincing enough for even those who aren’t morning people.

P.S. My latest goal is to get into medium partner pro
