Ang, and I am from Rhode Island, the smallest state on the map.
Music is my escape from reality, during my darkest moments in life I would cope with It by putting on a song or an album of my liking and sit there and completely disconnect from all the negativity and grief I was going through during those times. Music fully took me out of that and got me through it. Happy or sad music has always played a big role in my life. Without music, I don’t know where I would be today.
I do it all I engineer write record mix and master my songs all at home I am self-taught, with only 4 years of making music I was able to learn fast and be patient with the process and not rush anything .not only did I learn it on an engineering level I perfected my sound to where My versatility is unstoppable, I can go to any genre of music and still have the same results every time. I can one session do a full r&b tape then the next one do a rock tape it doesn’t matter I can do what ever someone throws at me and exicute an make sure to always have great results.
I see myself traveling all around the world having my name out there doing business with others being independent or being signed having an amazing team behind me that pushes me further to success, connecting with other musicians attending concerts going on tour modeling brands living a busy but fun life that I've prayed for. Successful but not satisfied, still driving for more and improving every day, writing songs for other artist. Countless hours in the studio, being in a different studio every state, becoming the next big name in the industry. Putting on for my hometown, putting the people around me on. Just living out my dreams to the fullest, making sure that I’m always consistent and give it my all forever. I will be 26 in 5 years, still young and grinding harder just how I first started.
As an artist I wish to have the strongest fan base and be able to connect with everyone that supports me and enjoys my music, I also want to have a strong bond with those individuals around the world who listen to me and get to know others and make it feel like they are not just fans but their family. But as a person I want to be able to give knowledge I learned during my journey and be able to give back to the people who pushed me to go harder and to make sure nobody’s struggling around me, I want to be able to take care of the people who took care of me, make sure they're comfortable no matter what.
I want to be remembered as not only an amazing musician but a genius and genuine individual a man who took his craft so serious and always showed love to the people in the world, a person who created music to get others through the same stuff I was going through, proven that my talent stretched on for decades. An artist who impacted others live, an artist that you only need to hear five seconds of the song to know who it is I want to be able to prove that it doesn’t matter where you came from what you got what you don’t got but just as long as you work with what you got and give it your all anything is possible.

JayLifted born in Queens New York, raised on the north side of Chicago. The Belizean American rapper delivers a versatile style of music. From his catchy cadences & melodies to his bars that stick with you. I’ve had a passion for music my entire life, ever since I was a kid. I always had notebooks filled with lyrics and ideas. From before I even stepped in a booth and recorded anything. The passion was always there for me. I think what makes me different as an artist is my story and where I come from. My family comes from Belize, which could easily be a third world country to many. The things my family has had to overcome for me to even be in the position to work as hard as I do, and even create music for others has been a blessing. Those simple things are what drive me to work the way I do. As well as spark my love for music. To express myself and create in a space where there is no right or wrong. It’s really a feeling I can’t even describe it. Where do I see myself in five years? I’d say I see myself staying fully independent, and in a position where I can continue to give my fans music consistently. As well as showing people that it is ok to be an independent artist and build a brand. I’d also like to keep on checking things off the bucket list musically speaking. Last year I was able to receive my first plaque for my single “Build It Up.” That was my first record to reach over a million streams. I feel like my catalogue should continue to generate numbers like that. I’ve been doing this going on almost ten years now. I feel like I’ve seen it all, I feel like my discography speaks for itself. What I bring to the music world is authenticity, we live in a time where everything is fabricated. People don’t get to show you the hard work and time it takes to accomplish things. Nothing comes overnight, and that’s ok. Its ok to fail at something and keep trying till you get to where you need to be. I’ve been to every record label I admired growing up. I’ve sat in meetings that could have changed my life and have those not go my way. Those things made me better, it made my music better, it made me work harder and remain solid. Be kind to others and be a good human being its really that simple as cliché as it might sound. I’m a firm believer in work hard and get what you deserve, the music industry is a tough place to be at times. Put the work in and stay down, that’s what I want to be remembered by. As far as things I’d like to continue to do outside of music, is grow my business. I own a Belizean restaurant in my hometown of Waukegan IL. (Tase Of Belize) we’ve been there for years now. With recipes that have been passed down from my mother & Grandmother. I take pride in being able to give my community a taste of what I grew up with. The comfort food and culture needs that recognition it truly does deserve. My grandmother used to own a little restaurant back in Belize. Which started out as a small cart selling food, to a small shack, to a full dine in restaurant. I’d love to introduce the world to these kinds of stories and traditions I come from.

IKEA vs Solopreneur
On a lazy Sunday morning a couple weeks ago I decided to visit IKEA. As I sat eating my very cheap but delicious breakfast of eggs, potatoes, and bacon for under $5.00 I began to chuckle to myself. If you didn’t know this about me, I am an IKEA aficionado, dare I say a savant at putting together IKEA furniture. It dawned on me as I walked through the IKEA warehouse checking out the new kitchen layouts that being a boot strapped startup (in other words, broke) and putting together IKEA furniture has a lot of similarities. I really do miss the brochures that came out every year, but I digress.
