Andres' Words To Those Struggling Right Now

“Get out. You don’t have to meet a lot of people. If you have a balcony, go out and take a look outside. Take some sunshine in, part of that is your physiology changes, if you’re in an environment that’s negative keeping you down it becomes a spiral. You start thinking oh things are going bad, now I’m feeling stuck it’s cause you’re in a room and you feel stuck it just keeps building upon itself the negative momentum if you’re able to physically be able to break out of that.

Don’t get your mind caught in a cell where you feel trapped, change your room, open your windows you can move things around where you’re at you can get a glimpse of hope it’ll help you see there’s other opportunities instead of focusing on the negative where focus goes, energy flows. You build up more negative as you focus on it every day is a new opportunity, a chance to make things different, then you see there’s hope for your future, then you realize months ago it was December, that was a very different life to the way life is now. This time, of uncertainty and difficulty, is also going to change, whether you’re going through unemployment this is just temporary, Whether you’ve been laid off it’s just temporary all these difficult times are temporary and it’s an opportunity to make a change and build yourself up.

There’s a time for planning and there’s a time for doing. If you have downtime it may be the perfect time to plan how you start your biz, how you plan to build up your resume, to connect with people, as you find these ideas out, that’s the moment you execute.

Message friends you haven’t messaged in a while get your mind out of your situation and see how you can encourage someone else and in turn, they will encourage you back. How will people influence me? As you’re able to give it gives you purpose in return. That’s the motivation as to why you need to get out of bed. Some people need you whether you’re going through a hard time, there’s always someone else that has it worse. It breaks his heart when he hears people that are children going without food or going through difficult times.

We’re not in this alone, we’re a society the more we love and care for another the more we can succeed as a group.”

With one of the biggest challenges in the world right now being money, I went on a hunt to find people who had gone through financial difficulty but managed to stay happy and come out of it stronger than ever. I am so excited to share with you the story of our first guest Andres. He had faced unemployment for months, even went out to apply to 60 different listings, to end up with nothing. NOW he gets $100K offers from companies. So how did that happen?!

Well… to start...Andres left the military and didn't have certifications, degrees, or qualifications he thought since he served most companies would consider him a professional or give him an opportunity but they didn’t for weeks. But then, weeks turned into months.

The hardest part was the difficulty his family faced. Something that affects you isn’t just with you but it affects the people around you. It affected his wife, kids, family members...

When you bring yourself down sometimes you bring other people down with you.

What he realized that things were not going to work out if he kept doing the same thing he was doing which was going online and applying for jobs.

He filled out apps for open positions he would never hear back. He remembered one day he filled out 60+ apps in one day and only got two phone calls and out of those two he couldn’t get a job.

That sparked him to think things needed to change, he needed to change, the way he was acting things he was doing was not working.

He needed to do something different. He needed to change himself.

If these opportunities were there but he’s not meeting the qualifications he’s going to work on himself, on his qualities and capabilities to become the candidate that organizations wanted.

It was something that sparked a desire in him to change.

John Maxwell knows that someone will be successful by two things

1) Willingness to change

2) Desire to grow

If a person has those two things they can guarantee they’ll be successful at a job or project because they have a willingness to change and desire to grow.

As much as people want an opportunity, they don’t desire to grow, if they’re not willing to put effort in to make changes it’s not going to happen.

If he focused on willingness to change and he started studying and putting the effort to change himself and the experience than he could offer more

The value you’re able to provide to an organization or market is value you’re compensated for.

If you wanted to improve the value and income you have you need to have skills to warrant the companies to want to pay you that value.

Overtime he pretty much wanted to find the fastest way he could gain more value for himself as an employer and active professional by studying on how to take multiple programs and classes, more certified and trained. Pretty soon, companies started to reach out to him.

A lot of those things made him more valuable and he saw that’s when things started to change for him.

His Tips For What Helps When Going Through Hard Times

1) Lean on others for support

One of the things that helped him going through hard times, he was unemployed, and as he was filing for bankruptcy he had to rely on the people around him his sister, spouse, for emotional support and that’s counter-intuitive, because everyone thinks I have to figure out things on my own and they think reaching out for help is a lack of strength or seen as a weakness, but the truth is we’re social beings, we can’t learn to do something or achieve greatness on our own we need to be able to say. “Hey I’m having a difficult time, can you help can you coach me on how to make better decisions on learning a better skill?” It boosts up your confidence during those low times, because then you know you’re not going for something for long there’s people that care for you. As you pull yourself together once you’re strong enough to make the decision to change you can do effectively because you know you’re being supported and loved

2) Consistency

He realized that earning a Bachelor’s degree is not something he’d be able to do overtime, but it’d be weeks so he had to instill discipline and habits, consistency in his routine that would warrant for him to be more successful in the long term.

3) Be Patient

People see something that looks interesting, celebrities, insta famous influencers, they pursue what that person is doing without realizing how long it has taken that person to be successful, going through those hard times and being consistent in building habits and a structure that would enable them to be successful

It took him a year and a half or almost two years to be able to go from unemployment to six figures, to be done with bachelors and masters, ever since then it’s been crazy year after year because he continued to grow, surround himself with people that would challenge him and encourage him, and build habits that would warrant him to be more successful in the long term than an immediate quick win that would build him out to have long term success

4) Remember your WHY

One thing that kept him going after so many failures was remembering why he was doing what he was doing. He reflects back when he was single and younger, if he struggled it was just him he didn’t mind having to sleep on a couch, not having money, or just hanging out, when he left the military he was going to have his first son, and his son became a purpose that gave him a new identity a father role model, figure someone could look up to and the thought to bail at that scared him more than just failing by himself.

He changed his mindset regarding how he saw failure, because as long as he kept trying, working towards something he was setting an example of not giving up, even though you go through hard times, or even though life feels unfair, as long as you continue to push and do the right things, then that’s what matters so it became about having a greater message and purpose than just finding a job it became making a difference for his son and the people around him.
