Everyone Has A Story To Tell

Some writers will tell you they write because they cannot find the audible words.

They write to tell the stories that are full of emotion, thought, and courage. It is not easy to find the strength to put word to page. For some, a painful process in which memories are relived, places that have been kept in our minds, hidden, locked away-revisited. For others it is an escape from the drama of our daily lives. Our imaginations teemed with our words create our own personal refuges. A short escape that we custom weave from our tapestries of life.

In black and white, we confess our every sin, every joy, and every sorrow. Every storyteller's expression distinct—every point of view a portal blended into something outside of ourselves. We will always have the privilege of sharing someone else’s sorrow of personal loss. The world will never run out of stories to tell. Writing allows all of some of us to have a voice where we never had one before. Writing helps us process feelings that we do not show out load. Writers are the brave souls who produce the ebb and flow of emotions though nouns, verbs, and punctuation one key stroke at a time.

We write to be heard. We write to reach beyond the deaf ears of the ones who do not want to hear our fevered cry for justices that have gone unchecked. Thousands of pages weep “Save the Earth before we can no longer save ourselves.” Voices gather together in magazines, books, and flyers to help the world. Diversity comes together with unity as we fight to change the despairs of the world. Weighted words fly through text messages and land on the equally weighted page. Through these words flow a catalyst for change as slow and steady as a fiddlehead’s unfurl.

In black and white we weave Technicolor hallucinations of the places that are to be shared with world outside of our own minds. Images that appear lucid in our mind’s far reaches suddenly become as vivid on paper. Lost in our thoughts while our fingers dance pretissimo off the keyboard to a Frank Sinatra melody in the background. Feelings flow from our fingertips like a mountain stream, full of wisdom from worlds yet undiscovered.

In sun beamed excitement we write of the places that we would like to go, the people we hope to meet, and the things we hope to find before the sun sets eternally on this earthly existence. Through letters, silent signals, and keystrokes a writer can permit themselves to release the fears of past loses, past lives, and past loves. A freedom created through personal poetry. In essence, a writer’s stillness is found in the written word. We write to gain our autonomy from what everyone expects us to be. In our words we render our hearts, minds, and souls. We lay ourselves like a literary buffet for the public to devour only to spit to be spit out again. We write for the challenge. We challenge ourselves to express things to painful to say out loud. Pen names are created and sometimes we write to hide, we hide our hearts, our energies, and our inabilities.

Everyone has a story to tell whether pretty or painful, sinful, or sad, humiliating or uplifting. The foundation of life’s purpose can be found our use of words. Weaving words into images, emotion, and escape soothes the soul and quiets the restless mind. Writing grants, us the freedom of will to let go and freefall into our souls.
