Earn Money Blogging

In our last post on the topic, How to Earn Money Blogging, we dealt with the question: Is blogging for me? I'm sure that you are very well aware of the fact that not everyone is cut out for blogging to earn money because it takes quite a bit of hard work and creativity. If you are reading this, then I would venture to guess that you are seriously considering the jump into blogging and probably wondering what you would blog about.

There are many things that you could write about on your blog but there are several things that you need to keep in mind when choosing a topic or topics:

Make sure you write about something that interests you!

This may seem self-explanatory, but you would be surprised at the number of people who start out blogging do not adhere to this simple rule for blogging success. The reason this is so important is the fact that you will be writing frequently on your blog and it will be much easier for you to write about things that interest you. If you are not good with business or numbers, then it probably wouldn't be a good idea to start a blog on personal finance or business tips. Likewise, if you do not like politics or current events, then it wouldn't make sense starting a blog on those topics. It's not impossible to write about those things, but if you are uninterested in these topics, the likelihood of being successful and making money is very low.

Make sure it's something you can write about consistently!

Not only is it important for you to find something that you are interested blogging about, but it should also be something that you can write about consistently. In order to be successful and make money blogging, it is going to take time and plenty of writing. The topic you choose to write about should be something that would provide plenty of opportunities to write consistently over a long period of time.

Make sure it's something people want to read about!

This one may take a little work in the form of research. It's great to know what interests you, but if you are wanting to make money with your new blog, you will have to balance that with a topic that is of interest to others. Do some research on search engines to see what topics are at the top of the list of trending topics. Some of the topics that you may see at the top of that list are: current events/politics, personal finance, how-to/DIY, etc. There are always going to be people looking for advice on these topics but that is only the tip of the iceberg. Doing your homework on this can either make or break your blog when it comes to making money!

These are just a few of the things that you want to consider when starting a blog to make money. Do plenty of research and find the topics that are of interest to you and look through the search engines to see what topics are trending. These things will help steer you in the right direction and get you well on your way of making some serious money with your blog. The key to this though is being patient.
