Your future starts now.

What does that mean? It means that right now starts another life, if you're willing to take that plunge. It means that you're the author of your destiny, and only if you're ready and willing, you can take the steps NOW to create the life you want. Building your life's purpose and goals takes time to create, work on, and grow. Don't let procrastination, fear, or hesitation change what you want and who you want to become. It's important.

Don't sweat the small steps. They're big too!

Small steps count, big steps do too. Don't underestimate the single act of setting aside the remote instead of turning the television, and putting words on paper to get your ideas down so that you can refine them. Write your goals out, get them on paper. Make your first product, put that thing you've spent hours working on on Facebook. Share your happiness, struggles, and life with those close to you. Ask for help. Ask for recommendations, and let people know you're looking for customers. Sign up for a life coach if that's what you need.

Why does it matter?

Your life is important. It matters and what you have to offer can change the world, or mean the world to someone. You don't know your own potential until you're willing to do the work and be open and honest. Shortcomings aside, there's value in you that's just waiting to come out somehow. Don't shortchange yourself!

There is no shame in small beginnings. There is no shame in failure. Everyone who succeeds has a trail of failures and wins behind them. We are not all perfect people who do everything right every time.

Here's a short list to help you get started:

  1. Get it on paper: Get your goals written down. Writing what you want to achieve sets the stage and gets you to begin working on what you want. That way you have a blueprint for your actions every day towards your dream.
  2. Take small measurable goals and tackle them one at a time. Meeting multiple small goals gets you thinking and working harder to get them done. Big goals are wonderful, but you probably will get discouraged if you focus only on them. Tiny goals achieved will start the momentum moving forward and you'll be more likely to continue.
  3. Take at least one step or one action toward your goals a day. If you want, you can break apart each goal into three or four, and work on each one at separate or specific times a day. For example, if your goal is to write an article, you can start with brainstorming in the morning, creating your sources list around lunch time, and editing what you've drafted in the evening. This way, by the end of the time you've set to finish and publish your article, you aren't struggling to get it started and finished.
  4. Talk about it. Set up meetings with counselors, coaches, family members (if they're supportive) so you can crystallize your vision and get ideas on how to move it from dream to reality. Sometimes actually speaking up about what you want will help you figure out if it's a workable plan and whether or not it's not profitable yet.
  5. Don't give up. You're creating your life. You're responsible for yourself and your future. Failure or success, it all rests on you to get started and to shine.
  6. Be willing to charge what you're worth. When you've got the knowledge or skills to create or change lives, your worth has value and will be requested by your ideal clients.

To sum it up:

Think about it. You have an idea, and it's a good one. There are billions of people in the world and you can make an impact and a difference, but only if you're willing to put forth the effort to actually get started. I have faith in you. Don't think for a minute that you don't have worth and don't have something to offer.
