A remarkable book that effectively conveys how small (atomic) changes to ones daily routine can yield unprecedented results in the long run.

James Clear is able to easily explain the workings of human behavior, discussing ground-breaking topics on human behavioral psychology and neurology. Clear explains precisely how and why it is that we form certain habits and patterns in our own lives. This book is divided into 5 distinct sections that each break down the process of habit formation, and provide an extremely practical framework to implement small improvements to your already existing routine, cultivating it for greater efficiency and growth.

We often fall under the impression that in order to make any significant changes in our lives, we must first accomplish extravagant acts of bravery or achievement. But, this book continuously emphasizes that the contrary is often the case. James Clear is able to explain that real change comes not from once-off acts of motivation or courage, but from the compounded effect of hundreds of small decisions made on a daily basis, that appear insignificant at first, but in the end lead to remarkable results.

The author builds on the ideas of previous publications in the field, focussing on the key ideas of making good habits stick through ensuring that they are obvious, easy, attractive and satisfying to do. It sounds like a basic concept but through repeatedly revisiting these principles throughout the book, they become very easy to apply. The chapters also help you to flip these principles on their head to shake bad habits (even you, Ed Sheeran).

I won’t give away any of the authors secrets but I found that this book really helps to focus on the whole system, rather than just specific goals. As an avid new year’s resolutioner and list writer I’m definitely guilty of doing this, but through seeing habits as a system rather than a checklist this book will help you to achieve your goals by looking at things differently.

Atomic Habits is also very kind and considerate. Habit making can be a tough business after all and it’s easy for perfectionism to creep in, but there’s an idea in the book that it doesn’t matter if you cast a wrong vote for a bad habit, as long as healthy habits win the election overall. That really stuck with me.

This book teaches us the importance of building constructive habits, and provides a clear cut framework on how to remove areas of inefficiency and resistance from your own life. This book will teach you how to be productive, motivated and happy.

The read is smooth and easily flowing. The concepts of each chapter tie together beautifully and compound in such a way that the entire reading experience is seamless. The author is able to deduce seemingly complex scientific and psychological jargon, into easily understandable and relatable terminology for the layman.

I would recommend this book for anyone wanting to change certain aspects of their current lifestyle. Reading it will effectively convey how just a daily improvement of 1% can yield extraordinary results in your life, with consistency and patience.

Whether your goal is to workout more, to read more frequently or to teach yourself a new skill. This book will break down exactly how and why we form habits, and further, it explains how we can go about changing our destructive habits to materialize growth and success.

The Author James Clear in this book explains the importance of strengthening the foundation of life in order to achieve greater hights. We as human usually focus on the greater aspects of life while we fail to see that happiness and success can only be achieved by the small small habits and behaviors we develop and maintain them all through our lives as human beings. However please not what ever James Clear states in this book can't be developed overnight since it is am exercise which needs to be repeated daily for years and only than you will be able to note the changes within you aswell around you.So all those peeps who don't want to put efforts on themselves, who believe in changes happening within a snap of their fingers pleases stay away from this book it ain't your cup of Coffee.

A must read for all those who believe in strengthening the foundation of life.
