A Few Favorite Art Quotes from Beloved Artists (Including Myself)

There are a lot of intelligent quotes from very artistic artists out there. I shall start with mine, "Art is to be cherished, marveled at, appreciated as long as it comes from a healthy place in your soul." I think that this needs no explanation but I want to acknowledge the fact that we need more healthy art in this world. I believe that as artists we have the most powerful stories. I believe that all creative art has to prove a healthy, empowering, meaningful point.

My father's quote about art is, "Enjoy creativity, make a powerful impact." This means that we have to only take to heart that which is beautiful in life and to take the time to actually understand an artist and their beliefs and to be kind to them because to be an artist is something extraordinary and magnificent.

Another quote is, "I am seeking. I am striving. I am in it with all my heart." This quote is by Vincent van Gogh and I think that it's a very nice saying. Van Gogh is saying that if you create a painting with all your heart then you create something meaningful and you will be proud of what you have done. This is what we need more of in today's society, to be proud of what we are doing, of what we are creating.

"Creativity takes courage," by Henri Matisse. This quote reminds me that artists are very, very courageous and smart human beings. When you create, you give it your all, you put your amazing soul in the creative process and you achieve something that is new and empowering, something that is memorable and most of all colorful, for all to see.

"It is important to express oneself....provided the feelings are real and are taken from your own experience," by Berthe Morisot; this is truly remarkable.

"To be an artist is to believe in life," by Henry Moore. This is an amazing statement. We as artists grow when we create, we grow and inspire others to grow as well. As artists, we embrace what is true and unique.

"Art must be an expression of love or it is nothing," by Marc Chagall. Of course, this is so true. Art must be an expression of love and good health, something positive so that you become a person that is independent and has a rich life. Art makes you rich in your soul, you grow a lot from it, you owe a lot to art when it comes to your well-being.

"The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place: from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider's web," by Pablo Picasso. Marvel at this.

These quotes have a lot of meaning and clarification in them in regard to one's ability to understand art, especially in today's modern society. I hope that these quotes find you well and inspire you to create if you have never created before or you are thinking to start and art career.

You are a true artist when you totally believe in yourself and what you are doing, when you let your art flow with inspiration and when you take the time to be compassionate and when you see only love.

You are a true artist when you create something with a lot of meaning. So many artists these days are so intuitive, like always, art and intuition go together. Most of all, create for yourself, for your own personal gain. Inspiration does not come every single day but when it comes it is unstoppable, it is pure magic.

All these artists agree on something, they agree that art changes your perspective of life and that it makes you grow and a better human being in general.

Make something today, work on something that you are proud of, create something that a lot of people will enjoy, make something that makes you and others happy. Art is like life, it makes your day. To have an art piece on the wall, it's so nice, to see a painting or drawing from one of your favorite artists every day is key.
