7 Habits can Change your Life, Start Now

Most of us think we are helpless to change our bad habits. We might even believe that changing our bad habits is impossible. But the truth of the matter is that changing bad habits is a simple process, and once you start making small changes, it’s incredibly easy to keep making small changes, which leads us to changing our bad habit for good.

1. Be Grateful Person

For most of us, the idea of a good life is elusive. It may be part of our conscious awareness, but it doesn’t seem to happen until we stop being lazy and start thinking more about what we want to do with our lives.

As a result, we are constantly making choices between one activity and another, between the next meeting and the next job interview and the next hobby project. If you’re like most of us, it’s easy to drift from one activity to another without much thought or accountability.

I have always believed that you should never give up on your dreams because you never know when you might need them. You can’t afford to miss out on opportunities because you never had any faith in yourself or your own ability to succeed. In fact, I strongly encourage people not only to follow their dreams, but also take measures to make sure they don’t fail at them. And if bad things happen along the way and you feel like getting out from under them (like when your car breaks down), just remember that some bad things happen for a reason and that there are lessons in every experience.

I think it’s impossible for anyone to avoid small slights or disappointments (or even major disappointments), but I always try my best not to let these things get me down as they often teach me valuable lessons that help me grow as an individual and as a person. The biggest lesson I have learned is that setbacks are good because they tell me something important about myself: I am capable of taking chances on new areas of my life; I am capable of learning by failure; I am capable of learning by success; I am capable of learning by mistakes; and most importantly…I am capable of learning more than I ever imagined possible!

2. Have a Growth Mindset

Growth mindset is a concept that has been around for many years, but it’s only recently been popularized by the book “The Lean Startup” by Eric Ries. It suggests that we are not in control of our lives, and that by making small changes each day we can achieve great things — even what you might see as impossible.

In this post I want to focus on one of the concepts underlying a growth mindset: have a growth mindset. Growth mindset is an attitude of persistence and equanimity towards change, which leads to growth and development. We need to cultivate this attitude at all costs. There are only so many days in a year, and most of them will be bad days; we need to learn how to deal with those times when you feel like quitting.

Here are some points to start:

3. Dream Big

As your teachers always said, “Dream big”. Even when you fall, try to pick yourself right back up. Life is always hard, but you have to face the challenge and you’ll overcome it.

4. Keep Learning

Life without learning is just unimaginable. Education is the basic building block of a successful life. To survive in a competitive world, we need to keep ourselves updated and educated. Education teaches us the importance of hard work, perseverance, and determination. It teaches us how to think critically and solve problems. It teaches us about the world around us and teaches us how to gain empathy.

5. Do Something Every Day

I’m not a fan of the “It gets easier each day” or “it gets harder as you get older” myth. I think it’s lazy. I think it’s dishonest.

The idea that we have to do something every day is a myth, and one that just promotes laziness and complacency. It’s easy to become complacent when you have no real responsibilities, no real goals, and no long-term plans. It takes work, getting out of bed in the morning, getting in a car, working towards something (or at least deciding on something).

But if you are working towards something, then at least once a day you should be doing something — even if it’s going for a walk or taking a shower or just plopping down on your couch. You can also eat dinner with your family or work on an important topic with someone else: anything that doesn’t require much effort will help keep your brain engaged and get you into a mindset of productivity.

6. Always be in the Moment

Hanging out all day, watching videos, and scrolling through Facebook is not only bad for your life, it is also wasteful, inefficient, and harmful to your health. These are all habits that can be changed.

The first step towards changing habits is to realize that you have them. There are a lot of things we do by default that aren’t really useful or useful in the long run. Here’s a few examples of habits that you might want to think about:

• Hanging out on the couch all day

• Watching videos all day

• Reading your favorite book in the car while driving

• Taking Facebook all day

As you can see here, we tend to fall into these habit patterns without realizing it. We don’t realize we are doing anything detrimental or harmful until we break them and begin to live differently (which takes courage and practice).

Knowing that these habits aren’t useful for our life goals is a big step towards changing them — if we get to this point, our behavior becomes much more likely to change.

The second step towards changing habits is a little harder: we have to make room for new behaviors within our current ones. This can be hard if you have been living with someone else’s habit patterns for a long time; but it doesn’t have to be impossible! It just requires a little bit of self-reflection and re-evaluation every now and then.

The third step towards changing habits is getting rid of the need for new ones! This means giving up old bad habits completely so that you don’t need new ones. This isn’t always easy; but there are methods you can use like cross training exercises which will encourage you away from old bad behaviors until eventually they get replaced by new ones that align better with your goals — one has already been completed already!

The fourth step towards changing habits is finding positive triggers for old bad behaviors which can help remind us of why we did something in the first place and then help us avoid doing it again…and again…and again.. Until finally we just stop doing it altogether! Which leads us nicely on our way back home… What changes do we need? Well, the answer depends on who or what was causing the old bad behavior in the first place: if it was external (from people or situations), then those needs should also be externalized.

7. Do your Best

The idea of “doing your best” is a relatively new one. In the past, people only tried to do their best when it was absolutely necessary. But today, you can do your best every single day, even if it’s not that necessary.

We often think of our “best” as being what we think others would think of our product. But that isn’t always true. Sometimes, our “best” is what we want others to think of us.

The reason that most startups fail is because they focus on the wrong thing: marketing and PR instead of building great products. If we want customers to love us, then let them love us through great products and marketing campaigns. We have a responsibility to our customers as well as ourselves to deliver what they think is best for them.

Conculsion

In conclusion, first, be proactive. Begin making the changes you want to happen in your life, rather than waiting for life to happen to you. Next, adopt a growth mindset. Surround yourself with people who encourage you and inspire you. Finally, be relentless. Even if you slip up, pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and keep going.
