If you have ever been to big metropolitan cities like London, New York, and Paris you will realise that there are a lot of rich people with a lot of money. Their loud car exhaust, bling outfits and over the top demeanour are a dead giveaway for some that make dumb money doing the most insane things you can ever imagine.

It cost a lot of money to attract attention, stay in the spotlight and live with all the lavishness, there is much you need to keep up with. Some liken this to "Keeping up with the Kardashians".

Personally, I would rather be the guy that achieves wealth in silence and upgrades to freedom sooner in life.

What To Invest In For A Rich Life?

1. Invest in You

Many people get obsessed with the latest hyped-up investments, crypto, NFT etc, you name it without ever first building a strong character foundation for themselves.

They later find themselves in huge debt with money management issues and no one to turn to. You see that with Mike Tyson when he blew up his estimated £320 million fortune and file for bankruptcy back in 2003. He has however managed to recover from this, thankfully to be a millionaire again.

Rather, invest in being a better version of yourself.

Do simple things, read a book, go to events, watch online material, and volunteer.

2. Invest in Rest

Low-energy lead to frustration.

Once frustration kicks in you'll say and make ridiculous decisions when it comes to money. The best thing you can do for your wealth machine is to get a good night's sleep. If you feel like you need a mental health day: take it.

  • Personal happiness hack: Be well rested

More money gets made when sleep refills your energy reserves, money is energy. You perform best when your mind is fresh, alert and agile to solve problems and build something.

3. Invest in things that matter to you

Most people invest in things that don't matter to them.

Eg,

  • a relationship that is one-sided.
  • a job that they are not interested in.
  • drinking their weekends away to escape the weekday grind that they have to deal with.
  • friends that couldn't really be bothered with them to respond to their messages.
  • pleasing people that would never even give them the time of the day.

The list could be endless.

Instead, choose to spend your time and energy on people that smile when they see you.

Choose a job that you actually enjoy, and surround yourself with friends and colleagues that actually support you. It will let you will live a much more fulfilling life.

Spend a crazy amount of money on this:

You need a reason to make money, or the money-printing factory will grind to a halt.

It's impossible to build quiet wealth if you ignore your family. Your partner, parents, or kids will scream all day if you ignore them. You can't be just hustling and ignoring everyone 24/7, you need to have a balanced approach.

Why?

You are so much more than the money you have. You have talent, skills, ideas, a personality, things to offer and so much more. Don't ever forget that.

At the end of your life, you won't remember how much money you banked. All that will come to mind are all the kickass experiences you had.

  • Dance like no one is watching.
  • Travel often everywhere.
  • Experience cultures you have never seen.

After all, these experiences are the ones you will talk about when you are old and grey with your grandkids and your friends.

In summary

A rich life isn't all about huge houses, expensive clothes, and fast cars.

It is about doing things that matter most to you and enjoying the simple things that so many people take for granted.

That's the power of quiet wealth.
