Quote 1:

Comfort is the enemy of achievement. — Farrah Gray

You know it. When we keep staying in the same place for a long time, it becomes very uncomfortable then to leave it and start doing, changing, creating — anything. It is so because we got comfortable with not doing.

However, staying in that comfort is a guarantee that we won’t reach our dreams and life goals, we’ll only postpone them for as long as we don’t move. Comfort essentially equals not achieving. We can’t achieve by not doing.

Therefore, it’s always good to question the level of comfort that we indulge in, and whether the comfort is in alignment or misalignment with the goals we’re looking to achieve.

Quote 2:

Ideas without action are useless. — Helen Keller

You may have brilliant thoughts in your mind, but unless you start manifesting them into shape and form, nobody ever gets to see and benefit from them. In other words, your ideas are like flowers, flowers that desperately need water as their nourishment. Action is the nourishment they need, without it, the flowers of your ideas are slowly dying.

Quote 3:

The only impossible journey is the one you never begin. — Tony Robbins

Isn’t it true? We always see obstacles and problems in our minds, and the fact is, most of the time, they’re only present in our minds. The vast majority of them never manifests into reality.

Therefore, what our mind is telling us to be impossible is only impossible because we’ve not proven it wrong yet.

Quote 4:

A boat is safe in the harbour. But that is not the purpose of a boat. — Paulo Coelho

It’s indeed safe playing it small, there’s no risk when we’re staying in the comfort zone, not attempting to move, to succeed, to expand ourselves. What’s at stake if we moved is not knowing where the current would take us once we’d leave harbour. And change is scary as it’s unknown.

Not making a move thought means already losing. It’s equivalent to choosing not to climb the mountain out of the fear that we may only make it halfway through. Yet, the fact that we won’t even start means that we’ve failed already. Even getting halfway through would have been a success compared to not climbing at all. That way, we only miss out on learning and all kind of experiences we would inevitably encounter on our way.

Quote 5:

You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have. — Bob Marley

Has it ever happened to you, you feared something that you were about to experience badly. You’ve seen yourself fail. You’ve felt the pain of this experience before it could even happen. You were terrified, whatever it was, thinking that you may not make it. And then the experience happened.

And you haven’t failed, you’ve not panicked, you aced it. You made it, you went through it and succeeded. You exceeded your own expectations and your mind’s version of what would happen. See, you didn’t know how strong you were until you had no choice to be.

Think about this next time when you stand in front of your next challenge.

Quote 6:

If you correct your mind, the rest of your life will fall into place. — Lao Tzu

I already talked about the mind in the previous points. See how deceiving the mind can be?

We often forget to acknowledge that even that the mind’s voice, that’s usually the critical voice, speaks to us regularly, we are not that voice and we’re not our minds. We’re not what the mind says, and we’re not the thoughts it speaks. Therefore, we don’t have to agree and associate with everything that it’s saying. We do have a choice. We only have to recognise it.

We have a choice to pause, think it through and question our mind. We can ask it why is it saying whatever it’s telling us? Why is it thinking so? We can converse with it and prove it wrong. We can own it. We’re the ones to regulate our mind, it’s not the mind that should control us.

Start with a little experiment for yourself. The next time your mind tells you something upsetting, something that takes your joy or peace away, question it. Question the truth of that statement. And keep asking why’s until you reach at the bottom of what the issue actually is.

Quote 7:

Mastering others is strength, mastering yourself is true power. — Lao Tzu

It’s easy looking at what others do or what they don’t do and judging it — what they’ve achieved, what they messed, what they can improve. It’s always easier to see their shortcomings than our own.

It’s easier to master others than ourselves. Yet, mastering others doesn’t help us as much as it helps them. Focusing not on what others do but on our own doing, on what we can achieve is precisely a sign of our power and character.

Quote 8:

Do you want to know who you are? Don’t ask. Act. Action will delineate and define you. — Thomas Jefferson

Isn’t it so? The words always sound good, the ones we tell ourselves about who we are as well as the ones we tell others.

The interesting fact is that we know ourselves mostly by our thoughts, our self-talk — the things we tell ourselves daily. Yet, people around us, those who don’t hear our inner voice do know us mainly by our actions, not by our words.

It’s the action that tells who are are. The thoughts and our mind voice are only half as real. It’s good to contemplate this fact for a while.

Quote 9:

Action is the foundational key to all success. — Pablo Picasso

This and the following three quotes are so self-explanatory that they require not many further words.

Yet, if we want to measure how successful we are, what we’ve achieved, we can’t measure our thoughts, our intentions, our ideas, our plans. There’s nothing else to measure than our actions.

Quote 10:

You may never know what results come from your action. But if you do nothing, there will be no result. — Mohandas K. Gandhi

Yet, something is sure to result from your action. Do you know what it might be? Think about it first. Have a guess.

And now, let me tell you — it’s 1. self-learning, 2. self-growth. Two indispensable components in a backpack of a worth-while life journey.

Quote 11:

Nothing will work unless you do. — Maya Angelou

There’s a big misconception about the Law of Attraction and how it works. Many people failed to understand it. They were saying, ‘’this law is a one big lie, it’s deceiving’’ etc. and cursing it.

They expected that things would come into their hands as by the wave of a magic wand just by them wishing and dreaming. They dreamt about a new car, or a fancy house, so how dare this law not work for them?

Well, nothing works unless we do. Without putting efforts and getting into action, we can spend a lifetime dreaming of houses and wishing for Porches of our hopes.

Dreams, wishes or hopes don’t work, unless we do.

Quote 12:

Words may inspire you but only action creates change. — Simon Sinek

I think this is a great statement to conclude the whole list.

Did these few minutes of reading inspire you a little bit? Did they make you think?

Great. But we both know that is not the goal. Not your goal. Not the reason you came to this article for. Your goal is something different. So don’t just keep it to being inspired.

Now it’s time to do the most important thing.

Don’t hesitate. Don’t postpone it. Action it. Now.
