11 Ways to Be More Present in Everyday Life

Stay in the "Now" and make things happen!

1. Get rid of the nonessential objects and possessions

Some people hold onto material possessions long after they had outlived their use. But doing so will keep an individual stuck in the past. Let me explain.

Your clients may have a few cherished momentous that they would like to keep, and that’s fine. But, when people collect things excessively, their lives are sure to suffer.

Every item carries an energy. And clients who are surrounded by things from the past will continue revisiting experiences that they have outgrown. It is very difficult to move forward in life when what happened before is always present.

2. Look for opportunities, instead of obstacles

Many people pride themselves on figuring out why a plan won’t work. They are always thinking about what could go wrong. But this type of life strategy is destined to fail.

A person will create more of what she focuses on. The best way to manifest challenges is by expecting them. We want clients to approach life with an optimistic attitude, so that they use the conscious creation process in a positive way.

3. Absorb the day

So many people walk through life in a trance like state; executing patterns and programs that they’ve learned through repetition. They’re on “Automatic Pilot” at work, home, and everywhere else.

However, doing that makes the person a passenger in her own life; someone who has no power, control, or influence over what happens. One of the best ways to help your client get present is to suggest that she take in as much sensory information as possible throughout the day.

Invite her to smell the roses, listen carefully to what’s going on, feel emotions as they emerge. Doing this will increase your clients present moment awareness and enable her to make clear choices in response to whatever’s happening.

4. Practice forgiveness

A person who holds onto resentment must relive events from the past over and over. But, of course, it’s counterproductive to walk through life while looking backwards.

5. Bring joy to your work

Many people today are working at jobs that they hate, just to get by. But doing that will decrease someone’s life satisfaction and potential for personal growth.

The thing to remember is that we generate emotional states from within. To feel joyful, excited, or enthusiastic at work, therefore, your clients must bring “Joy,” “Excitement,” and “Enthusiasm” into the workplace.

It may be ideal for some people to change careers to become more fulfilled. If doing that is a viable option for your client, then make sure that she remains open to the possibility of working in a different field or industry.

6. Have a compelling vision for the future and work toward it every day

To pursue and achieve anything worthwhile, we must have “Vision.” It’s important to dream big and not feel limited by what took place in the past. Every great invention began as an idea.

But we must also get into action if those dreams are to ever be fulfilled. What your client does today will determine her future. Therefore, it is essential that she take steps to build a bright and a better tomorrow.

7. Don’t hold on to past successes

It’s wonderful to acknowledge our accomplishments and victories in life. But we also want to keep moving forward, toward even greater levels of happiness, health, wealth, and fulfillment.

Some people do one significant thing and, then, dwell on that event forever. The problem with that is that they don’t move on and try or complete anything else. People like that are often trying to quit the game of life while they’re ahead.

8. Stop worrying

Worry is all about anticipating what we don’t want to happen. This is probably the worst way for a person to utilize her creative faculties. A person always has the power to choose the thoughts that he will dwell on.

Therefore, it just makes more sense for your client to practice thinking about what she wishes to create.

9. Open your mind to new solutions

Many of us try to solve problems with the methods that have been proven not to work. That’s because human beings are inclined to do what’s familiar, regardless of whether it’s effective or not.

To get better results, your clients must “Think Outside the Box;” do things in a way that they never have before.

10. Release all attachments

Attachments are like shackles that are staked into the ground and keep people stuck in one place. All things in the universe change, grow and evolve. Anyone who doesn’t accept this will be left behind while the rest of us move forward.

11. Just decide

Just decide to stay present; to not let the mind keep you in the past or future. Being in either place for too long will take away your power to act in this moment, which is the only real time you have to do anything!
