Sometimes our self criticism can be so strong that we feel as though it's impossible to break free. What we need is a moment of self reflection, and the following list is a concise checklist of things you can do to boost your confidence.

1. Take Responsibility for Your Existence.

Once you take responsibility for your existence, you can reflect on whether you think your current standards are too high. Is it possible that what you see as imperfections might have their value? Would a little less perfection in certain areas really get in the way of your happiness?

2. Stop Taking Things So Personally.

If you take things personally e.g., if someone criticizes you, then eventually it will become an issue of self esteem and confidence. To stop taking things so personally, you might want to remind yourself that a person's opinion of you has little to do with your actual worth.

3. Learn To Let Go.

If you're holding on to something that bothers you or something someone said or did, then such a situation will only affect your self esteem and confidence. In order not to be affected by these things, let go of the person or the problem in your mind, and soothe your soul by saying. This happened and I can never change it. I will never let it happen again.

4. Suppress Your Negative Emotions.

If you're thinking about or recalling a past event that makes you feel negative emotions e.g., regret, guilt, attempt to suppress these feelings as they don't change anything and they can only make you suffer. If this doesn't work, then try to distract yourself by doing something else and the negative emotions will subside eventually.

5. Practice Patience.

If someone makes you angry or upset, then this is a sign that you should take the time to calm yourself down. Don't let your emotions run away with you, because it will be more difficult for you to learn from your mistake if you keep yelling and yelling at someone.

6. Try Your Best.

If there are things about yourself that make it difficult for people to relate to e.g. feeling overly shy, being too sensitive, think to yourself.I am doing the best I can and that is all that matters.

7. Focus on the Present.

If you keep thinking about things that happen in the past or worrying about future events, then you will never enjoy your life as it is happening now. You will be missing out on a lot of happiness if you do not make an effort to pay attention to the present moment.

8. Think About What You Have.

If you keep thinking about what you don't have e.g., a loving relationship, good looks, money, then you will end up being angry at the world and blaming other people for your problems. It is much better to think about what you have your health, your friends, the love from your family, because this will make you grateful and happy.

9. Ask For Help.

If something is bothering or embarrassing you, then ask someone close to give you advice or guidance on how to fix it. There is no need to keep things bottled up inside of you, as it will only result in more negative emotions.

10. Realize That You Can Do Anything.

Remember that when you were a child, you had the incredible ability to learn and grow into anything. It was only as an adult that you gradually lost this capability and began to doubt your abilities. Now you can rediscover this ability and start believing that you really can do anything.

After reading this article, you probably realized that self confidence is something that you can work on everyday. It is also something that you can learn from other people e.g. parents, teachers, and when an opportunity for improvement arises, it is something that you should take advantage of.
